Rocca destroyed Fremantle in 97 and 97 from memory. Didn't he kick 10 and 11 goals.

Vs Saints 1997 we lost but it was a good game. Paul Williams one of my favourite players kicked 5. Think we lost 19.12 to 18.10 or thereabouts. Heatley was good for the Saints from memory.

One of my favourite home and away games I've attended. I was sitting with the Essendon cheer squad (stitch up from my Essendon supporting mate) and I was absolutely copping it in the first quarter.

Was having the time of my life for the next 3 quarters.

I went to that game. Punted on us too when we were down over 5 goals.

Was that at the MCG in about July? Nope Waverly.
Edit: the second game they had the speakers going with a St Kilda chant, this was really grating.
I loved the Round 2 game of that season; we smashed Melbourne by 107 points and from memory Saverio kicked 10.

Round 6 1998, we beat Carlton, and we never beat them in those days.
Round 3 2000 against the mortal foe was very enjoyable, we beat them in front of 83,000 at the MCG, no I digress, we slaughter them by 73 points from memory. The game where we beat them by more than 100 points was also very nice, but Carlton was a known basket case that year. Wins against the mortal enemy were as rare as hens' teeth through the nineties.

That Melbourne game on a Friday night.
Watched it with a Collingwood supporter I used to know in a Queensland pub, we were going nuts, sang the song with gusto after the siren.

Top of the ladder and the Rocca’s on 20 goals after two games…. Flag felt like a certainty that night

As an 8 yo ,,,, yes a long, long time ago, there was a game I will never forget. After the 1958 triumph, we entered the 1959 season with a giant hangover, losing the first 5, recovering to win the next 2 and then losing a close one to Fitzroy, to go into the round 9 clash at Windy Hill with a 2~6 record. At half time I was forlorn as the cocky Bombers had established a 28 point lead, 6 10 46 to our paltry 2 6 18. A strong 3rd quarter, got us within 14 points, but it still looked a bridge too far. We were staring at a season over loss. Then to my 8 yo selfs delight, we started kicking goals from everywhere, with brilliant play on football. An unforgettable last quarter yielded 9 3 57 to 1 0 6. Final score 14 12 96 to 8 11 59. We were in premiership form for the remainder of the season and did not lose another h and a game. Ironically, we were beaten by the Bombers in the first semi. Nevertheless, this was a happy day for me as my baby brother was born. As a 66 year old he is a legends member and is almost as fanatical as me. Almost........
