Seems a bit harsh to me

does this mean keano is back?

Was he 'sacked' or did he resign? Media reports suggest he quit, which probably means he was indeed sacked.

John Aldridge, manager of Tranmere Rovers (?), and ex-liverpool player is the bookies favourite, O'Learly second..

Keano is a 100-1 outsider :D

What's that you say liverpool fans? Who the **** is John Aldridge?? ;)

Thank God.

The sorriest chapter in Irish sport is finished.

Now we can forget about the whole M*** and R** saga. Let us never speak of it again:(

Now we get our best player back (most probably) and hopefully the FAI will learn from their ineptitude (some chance:rolleyes: )

Whoever takes the job, they face an uphill struggle to qualify for Euro 2004. It will take something special (or else Roy could do it for us, as always)

When you've got whichever miserable scrote in as manager whether it's Joe Kinnear, John Aldridge, or John Toshack or some other equally uninspiring charcter & you find you aren't even qualifying for major tournament finals you'll all look back at Mick M & see he was the best manager you ever had.

What he achieved with you lot was fantastic.

Now if we can just get rid of Sven.

Let's get things straight here. Mick did an excellent job in getting us to the world cup. His record as manager in our group of death was excellent.

Now leave that campaign aside for a second. I don't have exact figures, but his record is pretty ordinary at best.

Is it that Mick was a great manager, or is it a coincidence that our best games were when Roy Keane was playing, driving the team on, getting the best out of everyone as well as himself. It was as clear as day to anyone.

Mick stuffed that up through bad management.

Yeah he got us to a WC, and only Jack Charlton had done that before, but I disagree that he was the best manager we ever had. He was lucky that he had Keane on the pitch to sort things out when the sh*t hit the fan.

Aye, what a bloody disgrace! Mick was doing a good job and I tink it was harsh to give him the arse so early into the campaign.

Bryan Robson has emerged as the bookies favourite to take over the job, and has expressed an interest himself.

I'm not sure what to make of that.

I don’t have a lot of strong feelings about Mick. He did a fine job in the world cup for Ireland DESPITE being lumbered with that self centred fu(ker Keane. If he never plays again it’ll be too soon.
He’s disgraced Ireland, Manure (Ha!) and himself but in his mind and a lot of his sorry (Roy can’t do wrong…!!!) supporters. He’s the injured party. To make him a hero after this would be a travesty

Rubbish. He's exposed the faults in Irish football and the pathetic approach those f*ckwits in the FAI take towards the game in this country.

The only injured party is Irish football and the supporters who save for months on end to follow the Irish team everywhere, only to be sold short because of incompetence.

Roy's a hero in my books.
