It would be rare to pick someone who can come in and help us this season
Certainly unusual for someone to come in and be better than the established players. However that's a bit different to someone coming in and being physically ready to play seniors if injuries mean we need to play them in preference to kids who are not ready. Hopefully our injuries don't get that bad anyway.

We all love a good highlights package.....and what's not to love about this one.
He's definitely got a few tricks...who knows, maybe the Demons are set to pounce.

22 years old, lovely step on him and appears to be able to break tackles at will. That first bit of footage where he stopped dead with 3 opposition players around him and put the ball on a team mates chest is impressive. Would be a great get.

I'd put HOK on the LTI list and take 3 players mid season

Sort out +/- s end of year
Wouldn't be surprised if we're thinking along those lines now as unlike Marchbank and Cunners who are definitely depth or options to get a game when non injured, HOK wouldn't be. Free hit to nab a potential decent player considering it would be handy to find a small/medium forward, a pacy-ish mid and a tallish defender to minimise risk for the remainder of the season.

Midweek tackle reporting that Brisbane, who have 4 mid season draft picks they can use, are looking to use one of them on Daniel Lloyd (ex Giants)

He is currently one of their assistant coaches but hasn't been playing in their reserves so technically is not eligible.

Also stated that they had made some enquiries about Isaac Smith but thought that was extremely highly unlikely.

It won't hurt the chances of Oliver Poole who debuted on the wing in our VFL side last week.
Nominated for ND last year so eligible.
I'd prefer to pick someone a bit more physically able. We've seen what happens when Ollie tries to tackle someone, he just gets shook off. Someone around 21-24 years old would be perfect.

Perhaps 23yo Luke Beecken from SANFL is our guy then. Seems to be one of the very few msd prospects with genuine pace, endurance and kicking skill.

Kobe Ryan was on our radar as a rookie in his draft year. Certainly done nothing to harm his chances in the SANFL. We need midfield depth going forward. He just stands out as a “banker” should he last to our pick. Leaves a second pick for a more speculative selection.

It is far from a deep pool of players available in the MSD, if would be spectacular business if we can find two AFL quality players.

Daniel mckenzie

Rohan Welsh ‘eh..
Welsh is also promoting his wingman Saad El-Hawli.

The former Western Region league Rising Star winner is averaging 24.8 disposals from his six matches and seizing the eye with his speed. Welsh likens him to Carlton dasher Adam Saad.

“When I pick players who I think are draftable, I pick AFL players who I think they play like, and to me he’s like Adam Saad,’’ he said.

“He plays exactly the same way. Speed, good overhead, tough and a good ball-user. Good footy brain too. I think he’s got all the attributes to play in the AFL, absolutely.’’

Welsh also believes 2023 Bullants best and fairest Jean-Luc Velissaris should also be in the thoughts of AFL clubs. Velissaris, 24, had 34 touches against Collingwood and is averaging 33.3 from six matches.

Who is the best third tall forward type in the state leagues? This is who we need. Martin can’t be relied on. JSOS out for the year. Moir not ready.
