What will the swans midfield be in 05 i think alot of our pockets and flanks have the dynamite to play in the centre
I would love to see Schnieds, Buchanan, Bevan play midfeild all pretty small though, i think Goodes should also be given sometime as a roaming rover and 3rd man up sometimes. Maxfield i think should be used off the bench alot more this year as i think he is getting past it and holding up a younger player with pace that could play on the wing and damage the opposition

also does anybody think we have the best and most versatile foward line in the league i believe we do the options are huge

Buchanan, Schnieder, Hall, Doyle, Jolly, Ball, O'Loughlin,Davis, O keefe etc etc

also what do you think would be the best line up for foward 6

2005 midfield

Solid:kirk, bolten
Drift in and out:Schniederman, Buchanan, Bevan
McVeigh must be given extended time in middle
Schmidt, Willoughby(new Willo) interchanged with Maxfield and Williams
Spriggs! geez midfield madness how many do we need
spot on with goodesy in the middle

fwrd line still needs proven big man to take contested grabs in the goal square. Doyle And Jolly swapping duties sounds great. it'll keep them both on the ground and create good matchups

kennelly moved to the wing more, thats where i see him

what do you think will happen at CHB/FB LRT? this is the area we should have addressed at the draft 2 injuries and we are in some kinda trouble

Yep; you're very correct there, BSA.

Don't forget Nick Davis,Malkeski,Sunqvist and Fosdike in the rotation.

I think Saddington should be a full time forward; Great mark, finds the footy and is a good kick.

I liked Doyle at FF especially in the first quater against Melbourne, he was on rivers and absolutly towelled him up. exicting time for out midfield alot and alot of options and hopefully the team can start to take over the reigns from the Kelly/Creswell/Williams/Maxfield era etc etc
Hope we can get an injection of youth this year

I wouldn't, thommone. Two genuine talls, and Saddington is hardly tall. Hopefully it will drag a tall defender of the other teams back into our forward line instead of having them float forward where we don't have a matchup for them.

Sorry, I didn't mean to write "hardly tall" I meant he doesn't need a Leppitsch or Michael on him, maybe someone like Pike.

Yeah but can we get to the original topic and who will be in line for the midfield round one and who we are expecting to really stand up and make themselves accountable

Davis,Kennelly,Schneider,Buchanen,Fixter,Ablett,Goodes,Bevan - any of them, at least two to stand up would be fantastic.

Edit; Doyle and Jolly to dominate hit-outs. Oh and Sunqvist, Malkeski to show something.

I think this year is really the year for Davis to stand up he has unbelivable talent but commitment and injuries have tarnished his career. He could really be anything and i pray that he is fully fit and commited to the cause in 05 because last year it seemed like he had tried his guts out in the pre-season and was playing some magic footy against Brissie round 1 then the injury just broke his spirit to try so hard for so little
