I like the above description, Mike's a 'converger of opinion' he offers no new insights into Collingwood or the game and merely regurgitates what other people have told him. I no longer find him interesting or relevant and give his "articles" a huge miss.

Good point Chip. Our football journos work together, hang around together, drink together and (surprise, surprise!) end up with much the same opinions on pretty-well everything. It's called 'groupthink' and it never ceases to amaze me just how out of touch with reality (and wider opinion) they are on so many issues. The other phenomenon relevant to our club is wishful thinking: they want us to fail and, consequently, have little difficulty in coming up with reasons (as a group) why that will happen. Reality and objective reasoning has stuff all to do with their deliberations. It's not just Sheahan - most of them are appalling.

Rohan Connoley - had us last. Didn't realise Thomas was that good. He's hardly carried us Rohan. Some kids he'd never heard of. First of that's your job Rohan and secondly while they have impressed at times the 3 debutants haven't exactly carried the side either. He has no idea why we are going well and had no idea when he assessed the list pre season.
Good on him and he has also backed the roos and Hawthorn. Personally i think that they will have a similar season like we did in 2000. Look really good for the first few rounds and fall off the crowd and win few more. Hawthorn was in my eight. They are a very underrated team. Franklin at this time is a certainty for All-Australian selection.
