Just interested how exactly was it handled in people perception.

From my recollections

It was leaked by someone at the club while March was trying to contact the GM. TW was asked about what was happening by the media. Once the leak hit the news Miller popped up and March was able to contact him.

What did the board do wrong, after someone has been made redunant , that rumour would get around every quickly around the club (or any other organisation). It didnt neccesarilty come from a board member or at that level. HR are envolved, office staff etc etc.

I dont see how March or Wright have done anything wrong.

I agree Khan. Was made to look a lot worse that it really was. Big media beat-up - as usual. Not that I thought it looked bad anyway. The club made a decision to move a staff member on (with due cause) and that's that :thumbsu:

The whole Free thing made it that bit more controversial and therefore cannon fodder for the papers

Hard to say any individuals did anything wrong there, but someone within the organisation leaked that information, and that is a very unprofessional act, both individually and by reflection, makes the club look unprofessional.

Whoever it was should be found and dealt with, and that no effort has been made to do this ( apparently ), does reflect badly upon those at the top, indicating they either don't care or were supportive of the action.

Thats what I mean though any large orgainsation with a media profile leaks like a seive. What I am trying to say is that the number of people that say March and Wright are unprofessional because of this when there is very little they could have done. Hell, the leak to the media could have been from Miller himself hoping to get a repreave ? We dont know and never will. Was just looking for what other thought had happenned.

Yeah, but some places leak worse than others, and steps should be taken to try and stop it ( or at least slow them down ).

Leaks tend to reflect a lack of unity...people commited to the cause/direction are more likely to hold their tongues, so someone leaking either doesn't care or is opposed to whatever is happening....either way, best rid of them.

Yeah, it could have been Miller...makes a degree of sense, but outing him for it would have been good..

Having worked in the Fiancial Industry and Telstra, there are ALWAYS people with their own agenda. As it goes I thinkl the Tigers have started plugging theses leaks over the last few years quirte well, not perfect by far, but it appears to at least getting their. Hell caro used to use her 'sources' whenever she had a slow week to fill her column at the Tigers expense.

You know, I think you and I might have crossed paths somewhere with our respective work..Mind you, large industry, so probably not.

Yeah, every organisation will have it's leaks...It's a question of what gets leaked, when and how often, and tryign to reduce them.

I think that's the important thing here, something got leaked that wasn't particularly confidential and that was going ot be in the press anyway. I'd be more concerned if something really confidential got leaked, not that there is a whole lot that should actually be 'confidential' anyway....if you get my drift.

I think we are fixing the organisational culture at Punt Rd as well as the footy culture :thumbsu:

But why was he completely removed from the club? Has that ever been explained by March? And to say it was to have enough time to get in early for the best replacement didn’t hold up because the best candidates appeared not to want anything to do with the club. The speed of realease because of the rumour was ok, but the reasoning to my knowledge hasnt been given.

Most executives when they are fired are removed completely from the orgainsation, nothing sinister here. You dont want a sales executive talking to customers on your time, or a manager talking to staff.

Wasnt leaked to Miller by the club. Was leaked by someone we targeted to take Miller's position.

Thanks for that 1980, do you have any details as to who it was? That being said then the only mistake that was made was not getting Miller sorted before looking for his replacement.

If that is the case it was even more stupid, fancy sounding someone out at maybe a rival club and not expecting the word to get out, miller should have been done and dusted before any approaches.....keystone cops

Why bring this old chestnut up out of the blue for no good reason?

Just trying to agitate for no good reason.

dead issue. Move on!

Stop being provocative. It was no doubt raised because of the Richmond history thread, 1982 onwards. If you have nothing to add why bother posting

I love this one. I get accused by this mental midget of being provocotive when I am trying to point out that Khan is agitating , using an old issues when has been done to death.

Lmao!!

The reason I bought this up, is that recently it has been bought up in a few threads and I was wondering in isolation what people actually remembered as to what happened. Just trying to get what peoples thoughts were now that the hysterics have calmed down.

My opinion is worth no more than anyone else's and before yesterday I had kept them to myself. Wasn't trying to stir something up just trying to check details with others.
