The New York Knicks have a star point guard in the making with Milos Vujanic. Vujanic plays for KK Partizan Belgrade in Yugoslavia (my cousin's team-mate) and has absolutely exploded during this year. After showing promising signs while leading Yugoslavia to gold medal in the world championships, he has exploded onto European scene this year and is a goo chance to be Euroleague MVP for the minor round. Born in 1980, he showes great poise and confidence for one so young. He plays like a veteran, is exceptional shooter and busts his backside on defence. An ultimate professional. From what I could gather from him he is thinking about joining the Knicks next season.;)

Here is a link to some info about Milos Vujanic

If's he's half as good as you say, then the Knicks would be begging him to come across for next year.

Only about 2 weeks ago the Knicks scout (cannot remember his name) came and watched the game and caught up with Milos for a chat and was heavily persuading him to come to NBA for next season. He will take a bit of time to develop but in the long run I think he is a genuine All-Star material;) He has got a good brain for someone that young

Tony Parker: The definitive European point guard, as proven by his clutch 3 versus Orlando today that resulted in my insane, lunatic resembling jumping.

I'd like to see him play the 2 actually.

Have to disagree with you there. Tony is the perfect example of a player with a Point Guards mentality. He looks to pass first, while shooting comes second.
His court leadership is starting to show shades of Avery Johnson - minus the in-your-face aspect. He directs the play well, and has a fantastic understanding of the game.
As they said on the broadcast today, he looks like he's been in this league for a number, such is the magnitude or how mature the head on his shoulders is.

.

Why doesn't that mentality reflect in his assists numbers?

I know TD and The Admiral are great passers, but still, Parker deserves to be getting 7-8 assists a night.

Anyway, i just think his offensive skills are wasted by playing the point.

I think he could be a very potent 2 guard, in stints, doesn't mean he couldn't run the team, but it would free him up a little to take a few more shots.

Anyway, its not going to happen unless Speedy Claxton gets back.

Out of interest, what will the Spurs do without Robinson next year? Move TD to centre?

I know Robinson isn't a big scorer now, but still, his 10 points will be missed. Someone needs to step up and take those extra points, personally, i think Parker is the man.

Parker didn't have his jumpshot technique corrected until this year, where it still has flaws. He is a natural Pg in my eyes, and his assists stat is largely reduced due to guys such as Duncan creating his own shot and also alot of points coming from FT's or rebounds under the rim, where Duncan, Robinson, Rose or Willis rack up some points.

He can easily get 10-20 points per night and 8 as he progresses.

Our SG for the next decade is already on the team anyway. Manu Ginobili.

The only way I can see Parker playing the 2, is if Kidd is signed on the offseason and we play with a backcourt of Kidd and Parker.

With Robinson retiring, most Spurs fans seem to think we will go after someone such as Rasho or Brad Miller to play alongside Duncan. Either that, or the recent trade suggestion of Steve Smith and another contract for Abdur-Rahim, where-by Tim would play Centre and Reef the PF.

Presuming Timothy stays in SA, of course. ;)

Vujanic is a big time prospect from Europe. He is a shoot first point guard, great pace, is a smart baller. But what he will do in the NBA we dont know, because Marko Jaric lighted up Europe last year, and hes no savious this season (although hes a good player)

I think a good comparison with him is Steve Nash (style wise, not talent..yet). He will be coming to the NBA next year if he gets guarenteed minutes by Scott Layden. He also wants to start, so expect to see Charlie Ward bought out at the end of the season.

And I think Tony Parker should stay Point guard in San Antonio anyways.

Rumours suggest San Antonio are early favourites to sign Clippers UFA Michael Olowakandi. His form this year has been pathetic.. so I reckon a contract around 8 million a year with slight raises would do the job.

Utah have said they will offer Andre Miller the max, and Denver are going to offer Corey Maggette 7 million a year with slight raises.

I've heard that, but I take it witha grain of salt. I see him going to Denver, but he certainly won't be staying in LAC.

Give him time. Peja light up until about his 3rd season. Radmanovic is probably better this year than he was last year. Dirk took a bit of time. So Jaric will take a bit of time as will Vujanic and his current team mate Krstic who was also drafted last year (I think to knicks, he is a centre).

You have to admit that when Jaric is given more than 25 minutes he generally does very well. For a European rookie he is very good defender. He is versatile (can play PG SG SF) and is a decent shooter. And who can forget those free throws that knocked out USA in the world Championships:D

correct, manu the man is going to bust out next year.he is slowly showing signs now and could be a "X" factor in the play-offs now he is over his injuries.Next year with a rest and and a full training camp he will be dangerous.

does anyone know when speedy is due back?i heard it was it was 3 months so he must be due soon.

Based on the original assessment of 8-12 weeks, he should have back last week.

However, the last thing i read said he was still "out indefinitey".

His season might be a write off.

I believe Speedy is back into full-contact training after the All-Star break. Good news for all concerned.

When healthy, he's a gun. Injury proneness is his downpoint.
