Anyone else heard of/bought this brilliant game? It may look shitty with average graphics, but it's actually very fun to play, and only costs $14 to buy it in the current (Alpha) stage which will double when Beta is reached.

Basically the goal is to simply survive in a massive, near limitless, randomly generated world, avoiding the enemys which spawn during the night time. You can craft objects for various things such as to mine faster or do more damage to enemys and as you mine deeper and deeper you find different minerals and shit.

You can also play online with other people although that's fairly buggy in its present state.

Dunno much about it other then my mate is addicted to this. Stopped playing SC2 for it. :S
 
Yep, my mate has it and plays nothing but it. Right now you can pay 10 Euro for it. It's not complete however when he releases the final version you can upgrade to it. The beta price will be 20 Euro.

An update is coming on October 31st which will introduce a variety of new features:

Notice that it will introduce Biomes, which allow the generated worlds to have different 'areas' such as places where it snows and deserts etc.

Not much more to say really, there are dungeons and caves underground which spawn enemies (mobs), as mobs spawn anywhere in darkness (making the creation of torches and other sources of light far more important) watch some videos on Youtube such as the ones SeaNanners posted to see the game in more detail.

My favorite Minecraft video. I've yet to buy it because of my backlog of games. I don't want to get addicted to another game at the moment. I'll buy it after Fallout: NV...

I have to say though, Minecraft epitomizes everything great about the PC indy scene. It's absolute genius, imo, and just about any PC out there from the last 10 years should be able to run it, so everybody should at least try it out.

This game was made by one guy, whos sold something like 128,000 copies.

He has something like 600,000 euros in his paypal account and paypal wouldn't let him withdraw it haha. True story.

Minecraft seems like a great game to play for a while, but I couldnt really see myself or many other people playing it for long periods of time
 
I know people who say its more addictive than WoW.
 
Had a go at this today and was suprised by how much I enjoyed it.

The building was fun but I had the best time just trying to get people to come into my rape dungeon.

This game is unreal, bought a cheap server from the states and play on it with my mates. Most fun I've had in a game for awhile.
