He was let go because he asked for a trade.

He was getting limited game time as it was and after kicking 3 goals in our win over Essendon and then being dropped the next week he felt it was time to move on.

Goodluck to him this year, hopefully he pulls his head and doesnt get lazy and you might have yourselves a fine footballer

if rosa asks for a trade do you let him go, i dont think so. the easy way out for morton was to leave to go to a team with less depth to get a game, rather than fight your way into it, even if it does take years.

I think Morton was really pissed about McNamara (2nd game rookie listed player) being played in the SF ahead of him. We ended up upgrading McNamara and giving him Mortons old number

I think we also got Scott Selwood out of the deal with the picks for Morton, after seeing Selwood on Sunday night there is absolutely no way I would trade him back.

You can't teach aggression at the ball like that, he is going to be a 10 year centre square grunt for west coast along side McNamara and in a big game I would take hardness at the ball, massive endurance, outstanding tackling and clearances over 1-2 goals from a hff in Morton.
