rrrrrrrrrright, in the time in took for that throw in to occur all 15 secs wallace sent out the message for moore to stop filling important space around the stoppage and get on his bike 40 metres behind play where there were already 2 richmond players..... that wallace has some amazing communication channels available.

champ, players don't have their hands held every minute of every quarter of every match, there are times when they need to make the correct decision, this was one of them, was it the runner? should moore have told him to **** off bc he knew best? no lets blame wallace
Moore was at the stoppage blocking space...the runner waved at him to get back to the goal square... he was following instructions/team rules. That decision falls on the coach.

Good player, needs direction as a player though. Makes you wonder why we continue to draft players with perceived attitude problems - Hislop, Morton, Cousins, Connors. Our club is not exactly the best at the moment to 'pull their head in'. As suggested in the other Morton thread, TW is definitely playing favourites.

Why wasn't Richo sprayed after his lack of accountability in round 1? Newman's brain fade, handballing to a Port player on their own in the forward line, been poor all year. Moore had one of his worst games for the club, poor all year. Bowden has had 2 poor weeks in a row, Raines horrible, ditto Simmonds, I bet most them probably stay in with Morton being dropped for JR. This needs to apply across the board if the discipline approach is going to work, no matter what your last name is.

team rules but ultimately the player has to make the judgement out in the heat of battle, its quite clear that wallace didnt send out a specific msg for moore to leave that particular stoppage, there was no time for it... It does look as though the runner told him to go, but as a senior player in the leadership group, he really should have made the judgement call and told the runner to piss off. Lyon was right, the player made a horrible call

a fringe player at best

You realise he was second on our goal kicking list last year and he is currently first this year.

He isn't a fringe player , he is a work in progress like the rest of the forwards that are worth keeping on our list.

Needs to learn to work harder, he's a good overhead mark for his size, knows how to read a ball on the ground but doesn't get to enough contests.

Yeah ....LMAO

Worsfold and his Eagles have been wonderful judges of character and have perpetuated such a wonderful culture and heritage out West ...

Try again sport

Our culture may have been rotten off the field, but it wasn't on-field, and isn't that the goal of football clubs, to win flags? Morton had a bad attitude when it came to work ethic (and Mitch had a cry to his dad, who winged to Woosha), and doing the right thing eg: applying defensive pressure in the forward 50. His talent was never in question, he just never showed enough commitment to improving the weaknesses in his game. That said, he does have plenty of natural ability, and maybe one day he will knuckle down and become all he can be, but last weekend was the exact reason why Woosha was happy to let him leave after he once again cracked the shits for not being selected to play in the 07 elimination final.

The entire culture of the place will determine whether he becomes what he should be or whether we wonder what he could of been.

Remember Steve Johnson used to be a tool as well.

As much as the coach has a role in developing said "culture", so do to his teammates. Not sure that TW is the man to do that developing and probably never was.

He's still a tool!

im sorry, are you talking about nathan brown? you are aware that he was here a couple years before wallace right? 0>>>>>>>>>>credibility
Haha are you serious? Who recruited Brown in the first place? That's right, Wallace. I don't care where to, the fact remains that he picked him up when other clubs were extremely weary.

you also forget to mention that most of those players were also taken by other clubs first. collard only lasted a year, and so may hislop. gourdis only has a rookie spot now. the only reason connors and hughes are still here is because they have at least shown a bit on the field. pettifer, easily one of our best forwards, barely played at all last year because of his attitude. lets not forget how long polo spent in the 2s. if attitude didnt matter, a number of those guys would have been playing for a while already.
Yeah exactly, taken by other clubs first. So they were proven offenders, sacked in most cases BECAUSE of their bad attitude, whereas Terry had no problems picking them up. Connors, Hughes and Gourdis slipped significantly in the draft due to their attitude problems, yet again Terry has no issue. Pettifer didn't play because he didn't tackle and because Mitch took his spot. I've heard nothing about Petts' attitude keeping him out of the side. Polo wasn't a best 22 player last year anyway so that's irrelevant.

Personally I think there's simply too many examples to argue with.
