Mitch Morton

Sounds like a good kid,

1: Where would he have gone if he didnt go father son?
2: When do you think he'll make his debut
3: What no. will he wear?

Re: Mitch Morton

1; first round probly top 10.
2; he is expected to have some impact next year.
3; certain people think #24.

Re: Mitch Morton

footydraft reckons hes got just about the best kick in the draft, accurate 50 meter grasscutters on either foot. hes a receiver rather than in-and under ballgetter, but he looks a fantastic prospect. especially considering hes been an eagle now for a couple of months, needs to bulk up before taking to the field in the AFL

trading johnson for pick 29, and having an F/S first rounder in morton certainly lessens the impact of paying our top two draft picks for stenglein.

Re: Mitch Morton

A family member of mine asked a WA u18 teammate of Morton's about him, and he said that Mitch was the best he had ever played with, the standout being his pace and truly exceptional footskills

A big, Judd sized midfielder HFF with freakishly good kicking.

Re: Mitch Morton

I reckon he'll make a fair impact, but with the arrival of Stenglein, it'll make it harder for him to make his debut since others like Selwood are next in line. But with the departures of Paul Johnson, Michael Collica, Jeremy Humm, Callum Chambers and Kane Munro as well as the #46 legend  , it eases the pressure of him.

Re: Mitch Morton

I'd be very surprised if Morton does not debut next year, and in fact play about 10 games.

from all reports if it wasn't for the F/S pick he'd have gone top 10 at the very least. Will be a great pick up for us, of that there is no doubt

I was reading on the Eagles website that we have picked up Mitchell Morton under the father son rule. Since I have never heard of this kid can anyone tell me anything about him.

He goes to my school in Perth, and I can safely say that he is very good. He has got good pace, a very good vertical leap, good kick and quite an athletic kid. He dominates the PSA comp and leaves most 1st 18 players for dead.

Dont worry, He is looking and shaping up to be a very established AFL player.

Good mates with him, go to the same school and played first xviii(18) with him and I can tell you he dominates... Will kick goals from outside 60m and has a great torpedo, can play back or forward. Great skills and a unbelievable pick up for WC under the father son, also has two younger brothers who may possibly be seen in next few years

Yeah I can agree he will become a very established player and will be a household name in the near future.

Re: Mitch Morton

good mates with mitch, and go to school with him, going to be an exceptional AFL footballer, and at this stage he will be wearing Woosha's old number (24), although he has number 47 on his training jumpers and will more than likely make his debut in Round One, 2005

He has been predicted as going anywhere between 2 and 6 so he was a great pick up. The amount of work he puts into the gym will decide how much gametime he plays.

There is huge huge wraps on his kicking ability some im looking forward to maybe seeing him play on the CHF flank and bagging some goals... either way, it sure eases the pressure of us losing our first 2 picks.. and will sure to be playing sometime next year you would think.

from wat i have seen and heard of him he is going to be a great player for the eagles and for which the qualities that he reportedly posses such as his kicking accuracy will be a pleasure to watch and in which morton will add depth to our already impressive midfield or forward line, may play a number of games next year
