There's nothing wrong with someone saying "I think..." and then being wrong - happens to me all the time. What I find infuriating is when people speak in definitives and absolutes with a negative or condescending tone and then are shown to be incorrect. Something which you're known for And, let's remember that old adage, "a broken clock's right twice a day" or "throw enough mud and some will stick".
