One of the contestants for this lives in my parents' street. The night they filmed the episode there, the road was closed off and everyone was out on their balconies watching the judges do the walk down the street about a dozen times trying to get it right for the camera.

Pretty funny to realise how scripted some of that stuff is.

The whole point is to get into it as if it were real, what's the point in watching to just point out every two minutes "fake", "that's fake", "that's scripted".
Of course there are bits that are put on, re-filmed and the contestants are "encouraged" to be a certain way. However that's the same with every gameshow, talk show, even sports interview. It's no less fake than the AFL player coming out after a 100 point win telling us it was a tough, hard game and the opposition never gave up but they just stuck to their structures to get the 4 points.

Anyway, great timing to have this on, the Aus Open has just finished, this should do very nicely to fill the gap until footy and football shows start.

To make it a better show than last year I think they need to cut down on the instant restaurants, we don't need to see 3 straight weeks of that. And yeh, less episodes would be good. After the instant restaurants, put it on twice a week and that's all. Two 90 minute episodes would be plenty.

Reality TV is a bad genre and this show is near the turd end of the spectrum.

If Nigella is a judge that would be the best. She's fit as.
