Depends what you want.

I make all my mobile phone calls at night when I'm out, so Optus was the obvious choice with the 22c/10min to any mobile in Oz after 7pm or something.

With Telstra/Communic8 Prepaid it is 77 cents per minute for all your calls within Australia.

Calls between 9pm and 7am are 1 cent per minute for the first 15 minuts plus connection to any Australian Mobile.

Optus doesn't really have the best coverage in some parts of regional Victoria Suzi. Telstra's better in that regard.
But if your area has significant coverage then go with whatever is the cheaper for you.

I've only ever used Optus and Vodafone pre-paid. I found that Vodafone was VERY expensive, I rarely used my phone except for sms and the occasional 1-2 minute call, and $20 credit would disappear very fast.

I went with Optus after that, and have found that I go through less credit and I actually use my phone a lot more now.......the 22c/10 minutes at night has been fantastic, as that's when I usually use my mobile.

I don't know about coverage or anything else, but I much prefer Optus.

I went for Vodaphone, cost is pretty similar to others, but as I rarely actually make calls, then the fact the credit is good for twelve months made it the obvious choice.
