Hmm. Very good idea.
Richmond Media Watch.

Well as the title says for those who work at night 'like myself' i tend to miss everyone of these shows so good to know what topics were raised or questions asked to any Richmond guests and if any vids are on YouTube put em in this thread....

Chris Scott also stated how hard it would be to rebuild in the expansion draft era. He was asked if those teams sucked all the top talent, which in turn helped the hawks and cats stay on top(which stopped the medium teams rising) and this was his answer.
Well, what was the answer,

Funnily enough, his new favourite phrase seems to be "funnily enough"
And there I was sitting there going "it's really not that ****ing funny" "2-3 isn't funny either" "King still being a barometer for this team isn't ****ing funny at all" :p

I was gonna say that when I watched it last night.... but I didn't, because I was angry because NONE OF IT IS ******* FUNNY!

Great thread idea! Will save me sifting through a lot of crap to get to anything decent. Whenever the Tigers have a good win, it seems to get a 2 minute spot right at the end of any footy show. Whenever we lose, we're one of the first things discussed.

There's so much dribble on these shows these days. They all seem to have a real thirst for the political side of it which shits me to tears. I used to watch them all but pretty quickly found they all cover almost identical topics.

Only watch On the Couch now and have to say KB has been a massive upgrade on Mike Sheahan in recent weeks. Sad to see that Sheahan will be back next week. They should relegate him to do Open Mike only which he actually does a pretty good job of. His opinions on footy have become largely irrelevant. Some would say the same about KB but when he puts his serious hat on, he actually has a very astute footy mind.

Dimma is such a nice bloke Darcy , Watson and Carey took it easy on him.

When Dimma bull sh$tted to them about Vickery only being dropped for structure not form one of them should if asked how he rates his defensive pressure out of 10 against Collingwood .

Can not believe they didn't ask about why we gave up a second round pick for a player that can not catch and has no game sense what so ever. Especially as they had Natanui under the blow torch .

funnily enough arron fiora says hi

Watched that segment last night and think Dimma handled it pretty well (would have been interesting to see the same interview in a few weeks if we end up losing to Hawthorn and Geelong).

He made a good point that last year, we were in a similar position (3 and 3 I think before we really clicked into gear). Just a nice reminder that we are only 5 rounds in so the hysteria that our season is over etc etc is a bit premature.

Looking forward to how we go against 2 quality outfits like the Hawks and Cats. Maybe one of them will be our 'west coast' game from last year and be the kickstarter we need.

Absolutely love the optimism but we'll be 2 and 5 in two weeks which is way worse than 3 and 3 . Pull Roos gates us with a passion and will be planning already for round 8. That's where the sh$t will well and truley hit the fan if Melbourne roll us.

I probably should know better, we've all been let down so many times in the past before but I think there is some cause for optimism. I think a lot of our issues so far this season are more confidence (between the ears) and mental rather than a reflection on poor drafting/recruiting.

I actually had the thought during the Brisbane game that we look like we have a lot of 'downhill skiers' types. That isn't necessarily a bad thing in my eyes, I think every team would have guys that look better when the team is winning and very ordinary when its struggling. With so many players out of form and a less than impressive start to the season, it's easy to see why so many players didn't want to take risks by taking the game on and playing attacking footy and being more content to take the 'safe' option and chipping it around instead.

Maybe I'm looking into it too much but when we got a run on against the Lions in the third quarter, players started to seem more confident in each other and the gameplan and we started to play like we did last year.

We might not beat either Hawthorn or Geelong but I think if we can play like we did, we can at least give them a game. If we go back into our shells and make the same silly mistakes, we will get crushed!

I don't want to get ahead of myself but imagine the confidence the playing group could get if they overcome 2 quality sides like Geelong and Hawthorn. Being a tiger fan means we all have to believe the good times will come, keep the faith RT ;)

It's hard too keep the faith considering Port Adelaide beat the Brions by 113 points , that 12 goals more than we beat them by. I love your optimism and I sincerely hope I'm wrong but the Hawks are going to smack us by 50plus and the cats by 40plus. Our percentage will be shot and season will be over. I'm not hard on our list , I think we have the cattle and have built the depth to start the season will even with injuries the coaching staff and the players have just cooked it is all. It's how they manage the list during the season and this new VFL set up that will have me enthralled and what they'll be looking for for next year with our top 7 pick. I'm also fascinated how we are going to recruit two Ruckman to replace Big O and Hampson possibly 3 if Maric doesn't make
It back from injury. That's gonna be interesting .

I know it's tough mate but its still early days and once we get through these 2 games, we have quite a handy run for the rest of the season (giving us a good chance to pick up some wins and build momentum). As long as we keep in touch with the top 8, we are still a chance.

Port are a pretty good side though and had the advantage of playing at home. If you look a bit deeper, Port pretty much dominated from the first bounce to the final whistle while we really didn't start to play until midway through the third quarter.

If you compare the second halves of both games, Port kicked 14.6 (an impressive effort) but we still managed to pile on 11.6 ourselves. Considering Port play at home every second odd week and we play at the Gabba once or twice a season, it's not too bad. I don't know if Port have any major injuries at the moment but if we have Maric, Rance and Lids in the side, you'd think that could make a bit of a difference as well (all 3 are senior players at the club and comfortably top 10 players for us).

Worst case scenario, even if we fall apart, there is still plenty to get excited about this season. The emergence of Griffiths, Astbury, Lloyd, Gordon, Arnot and hopefully more with Lennon and McDonough getting games as well. Our VFL side getting up and running and the continued growing strength of the club off field. Most sides that are trying to make the jump from also ran to contender usually need to take a step back to go forward as well so even if this season is a bust, there is still hope for the future. I'm still confident though that we will make the 8 though :)

Port Adelaide have managed...

I thought looking at a thread about media (especially involving Capt Obvious Darcy and Wayne Carey) was just a mistake, but I'm glad I did NUFC :thumbsu:

Great to see some belief and optimism.

I'm with you. It's early days yet and we have a gifted draw ahead of us. Sure, we're down on form and confidence, but doesn't the song go "If we're behind, then never mind, we'll fight and fight and win".

Go Tigers!
