[Awesome Scotty]

I reckon a few of you would have seen monfires play some junior footy and stuff, how would you rate him? Surely one or a few of you have seen him and heard more of him than from what Wiseby put to paper.

It would be awesome if ya could let us in on what you guys think.

I havent seen a hell of alot of him and Im sure others will be able to tell you alot more than I can.

I saw a bit of him during the finals series for Sturt and I was very impressed with his hardness, seemed to really enjoy getting right into and getting the hard ball. Thats the aspect I liked of him.

I really wanted him at the Crows and initially I was disappointed we didnt get him until I did a bit of a read up on Meesen.

I think he will become a great player, seems to have a good head on his shoulders which is very important. I think he would be capable of playing AFL sooner rather than later because he seems to have a great work ethic. We decided on here that he is in the same mould as Kane Cornes and could be treated as such, used as a tagger initially and become a midfielder in his own right further down.

Real debate over whether we should take Monfies or Wood in the National draft.
I think the general consensus was this board wanted Monfries.

Those who have seen him play say he works his backside off, has very clean hands, and is footy smart.

I think you have a winner - tough when you have to make choices between players who are all good

I have seen a bit of him and he really impressed me.

Works his backside off. Fantastic 2nd and 3rd efforts. Cleanest pair of hands I have seen on a junior for a very long time. Genuinely dual-sided and is neat with his disposal.

A big enigne, decent pace and will get the inside ball.

I would have been happy if we got him @ pick 8.
