Sorry if there's already been a thread on this.

Anyone going to get this? Releases in a couple days.

Game is reviewing quite well with majority 8/10's and 9/10's.

I've never played a MH before but may start with this.

I was bored over the weekend and couldn't be bothered going to the shops so bought this off the PS Store for $115

I don't even know if I like it. There's a lot going on. It's a bit... povvo? Doesn't seem to be as polished as I'd expect a PS5 game to be. I don't know. I only played for 90 minutes but didn't feel the urge to get back to it. Why are there 9,000 items in the inventory?

Probably should have tried a MH game before dropping big money on it. Oh well.

Will sink a few more hours into it before properly making my mind up.

I'm not sure what this one is like but I played the previous one and found the controls / fighting very cumbersome .

I'm already really struggling with it all.

Makes me feel like I should just go and play Horizon again. It's a more polished game with better graphics, a better story and you can kill big mother****ing monsters.

the main problem with Monster Hunter is that there's so much under the surface that's not distinctly just whack monsters with a weapon. i'd treat the games similar to fighting games as you need to know combos, type match ups etc.

i've played a few hours when i had some time over the weekend, and it was great. i really loved the visual design of the world - comparing it to world/iceborne its a hell of an improvement.

if you're a fan it's absolutely worth it, but otherwise i'd wait til it's cheaper to buy it, otherwise you'll be throwing your money away

My fault for not doing my due diligence and putting some research into this beforehand.

I'm hoping it'll click with me if I keep putting time into it.
it'll take some time but i've found it'll click with you or it won't. i was fortunate enough to play some of hand held games as a kid during drives to the football from my hometown. take your time with it, explore the world, really get a feel of the setting.

Weapon choice can really affect your gameplay enjoyment in this series. It's not really a hack and slash type of game. Gets very grindy as well a bit further along. Lots of farming for parts to create newer armours and weapons etc.
