Monty Python was sort of ruined for me by oversaturation before I even really saw it - nerds in high school endlessly quoting Holy Grail and the Dead Parrot sketch, that sort of thing

I did very much enjoy Life of Brian though

The Office (US) is inoffensive canned laughter.

Monty Python's best (not all, and i want to make this absolutely clear - even if you do say Jehovah) stands the test of time as comedy, but we're talking about stuff that was made mostly in the 1970s. It's not so edgy now, but was in its time. It's like listening to NWA and thinking 'yeah, and?' and forgetting that they started out in LA the 1980s. Not sure it counts as a personality trait but it was seen as anti-estalishment not so long ago.
