RICHMOND: The Tigers effectively kicked away their season with their amateurish effort against the Kangaroos on Friday night. Without both Matthew Richardson and Brad Ottens the only way the team could beat the fired-up Roos was to convert every available chance but yet they finished the match by kicking 1.10 despite clearly being on top. And while coach Danny Frawley may never have been prouder of his side the fact is the Tigers have again quickly slipped back to mediocrity – where they have been for most of the past 20 years – after last year’s all too brief taste of success.

Something good to stick on the lockers ...it's fired me up already ; and we're only playing Woy Woy. (Ray Halls old mob)

Stick it up 'em Tigers !!! TOM HAFEY STYLE.

Why would that fire em up, its the honest truth. All the efforts of last year to gain respect are gone and Frawley doesnt help it with his pathetic attempt to apologize to supporters and his Im excited comments. If he congratulates our players for losing, what does that tell us about our coach & club:- they accept mediocrity.
Nice guys finish last, we need a coach who has a bit of mongrel.

It's all well & good to bag Frawley but you fail to nominate other
people who you think would coach better than him .

Well I could name 12 other coaches in the comp who would not apologize to supporters, get excited over a loss and applaud a side who just choked. I used to think alot of Frawley, but to me he tolerates mediocrity. I also heard, after the game, he got all the staff and supporters in the changerooms to clap the players on their performance.
Do you guys really believe this is going to instal a winning culture at our club?

Harsh.

It's not as if he's 'jumped off the bandwagon' so to speak - all he's doing is giving his opinion on the coach's attitude. I'm sure that, as most supporters have, you've been criticial of the coach's tactics or gameplan at some stage ... how is being critical of his attitude any different?

If what Diggler says is true, compare it to Wallace's attitude after a 3 point loss to Essendon in Year Of The Dog. "If I see one more bloke get a slap on the back, I'll spew". Contrast that to Frawley being rumoured to be actively encouraging it.

I'm not saying that Frawley should be sacked (don't think anybone is?), but I reckon he needs to finetune his thinking and attitude at times.

Motivation.

Diggler. : I don't ATTACK your opinion.... there are plenty of damn fools around here to knock your ideas without being able to conjure one of their own. Plenty of experts here who haven't put their nose over the ball lately ...preferring their backs on the couch. Let's call them Homers. Which is fine but they do have the most to say.

Do you remember you used to ask why we always get flogged but never lose a close one. Well the team have removed one of your bug-bears. Now you dont like Spuds speeches ? ok. I just hate it when they lose.

At first I agreed..the boys melted and Spud congratulated them for it...that was my perception too ...My initial feeling after the game was MURDEROUS.
I CAN'T HELP IT..I LOVE MY TIGERS !!!
I was annoyed ...Based on the fact that champions get up when they can't. Win when they aren't supposed to. But i was hasty. Spud isn't the problem...NO, NO, NO. Take a look at the team structures and it was evident where we our achilles heel was...and Nth exploited it. HARDNESS at ground level...ARCHER and PICKETT v's the Clinton Kings and Pettifer and Fiora types... And height ? We were undermanned, but the team did well to keep it at ground level. Burton, Morrel and McCartney plucked a few...Ottens and Richo watched.

But Spud coached back and Zantuck shut down Pickett. No-one could go with Harvey because Sziller and King are slow...Dunc stopped Simpson...Grant was on and off.

And our foot skills inside 50 meters were lazy...For you Homers...When a player gets leg tired it is harder to keep direction and distance with leg hits. But, downfield the kicking was more precise so It has to be said...The players lacked belief inside 50 meters. Fitness wasn't the problem...it was attitude. BTW : Anyone here done 10 x 400 meter sprints lately...

The fact we were competitive does speak a lot about the effort. And if the effort is there..Spud can't go beserk...not in public. Add Cameron, Hilton, Poyas, Otto and Richo...and mybe Vardy or Homey to that mix and we will win more games in Melbourne than we will lose. The boys at ground level will have to play like that every week from now on...the comp gets harder with 2 in adelaide, but we have to play to win them... Port win in Victoria...Bris win in Melb...our dream team is competitive against any other team...but we do need to believe we can win. And Spud is keeping the survivors of Friday nights team...confident and 'up'. Because we 're going to need them.

harsh hell no!
he has made his life ambition to stab danny in the back ever since things have gone pear shaped at tigerland without looking at the big picture why it has.
with the lineup we had on friday night and to get the chance to "throw" the game away is a marked inprovement on years gone by where we would have thrown in the towell before the game started.
why wouldnt danny be proud of the boys for their efforts?
as far as wallace goes maybe the side he had at the time was the best 22 you had out there and the they played under his expectations compared to danny and MOST tiger supporters know that we were way below our best lineup.
cheers!

TOO, Im not denegrating the performance last night, just a coach who will accept a loss and calls it exciting! If Frawley has a diiferent opinion about the players, than he gives at a press conference, why doesnt he say it like it is and stop treating Richmond supporters like morons. Other better credentialed coaches do it. I used to think alot of Frawley, but the public perception of him now is someone who accepts mediocrity.
Do you guys read the papers, listen to talkback, etc etc. Im not the only one questioning Frawleys methods. His public attitude does nothing to inspire someone to think our club is going places.

Go on name name's then

Re Diggler comment

Frawley speaks his mind at the press conference.
Unlike other coaches who give the public the party line all the time.
Why bag him.
If you have any grievence with the way he coaches come down to the taping of tiger t.v on monday june 17 6:30 - 7:00 as he will be a guest on the show.

Bet you don't turn up Diggler?

It's typical of you ,you bag people on here ,then when you are told to put up or shut up , you run & hide .

If you want to take this further come down to the M2 standing area at the M.C.G & ask for me .

Bet i don't see you there, like the COXSMOKER you are.:D :p
