James McDonald - Got picked up by GWS, can he get back to averaging 99+pts? at only 106k I think its worth a shot.

Lenny Hayes - Got a injury early last year that kept him out for the rest of the year. Even though he is 30+ at his price you'd have to give him strong consideration.

Tom Scully - Dodgy Knees but can he stay fit and start consistently racking up 90 +pts?

Kieren Jack - averaged 100pts in 2010 but dropped off in 2011, Worth a shot?

Michael Barlow - Certainly in my team barring injury should be back to his best in 2012 and at 453k I'd imagine he'd be in a lot of teams.

Paul Bower - Anyone?

Brian Lake - Bound to be a few punting on him if he can get back to his best he is one one of the best defenders in the comp....sc points wise as well.

Graham Johncock - Certainly considering him at his price.

Brad Dick - Worth a shot?

Jason Porplyzia - Could be a massive bargin only 229k

Brent Mcaffer - averaged 82pts in 2010 but was injured last year should be considered.

Jonathan Brown - Dirt cheap I'm getting on him because if he can get fully fit he will fire. Also needs the team helping him out.

Nick Riewoldt - Surely worth a look will be watching closely.

There is absolutely zero chance of any of these guys making my team. None of them are premiums, and none of them have shown any signs of taking the next step towards becoming premiums.

McDonald - Personally not interested by will judge by NAB cup form.
Hayes - Don't ever select players coming off injuries / uninterrupted pre-seasons. They are always slow starters and will most likely drop in price. Have to come at a HUGE discount to even be considered.
Scully - No. 90pts is not worthy of a midfield spot unless you are a rookie
Jack - No.
Barlow - See Hayes
Bower - He will be lucky to get a game
Lake - See Hayes
Johncock - He is no longer a premium, his price is low due to his average 2011 scoring. Avoid.
Dick - No.
Porplyzia - If you are getting him to make money you'd be better off with a rookie. If you are getting him for point scoring he won't get you consistently decent scores. Also, see Hayes.
Mcaffer - Absolutely no. Probably won't even get a game
Brown - Huge maybe. Will average 80 for the season but will no doubt put a string of 150's together. People will flock to him to try and cash in but you'd be better off saving the trades and going for a real premium.
Riewoldt - NAB cup form dependant, however highly unlikely to ever go back to premium status.

.

Everyone has their kryptonite Kruize and I think I have yours.

If you have done your homework then you should be all over this guy at Carlton. I'll give you a hint...pick 12.

Don't tell me you are not into him...it would be unCarlton-like!!

not sure that anyone that is taking on mcdonald is looking for those premium scores. but if he slots in nicely at gws he'll make you good money to be able to shift him on later in the year.

myself personally, i'm only interested in barlow, lake and mcdonald from that list.

barlow had the last half of 2011 to slot back into afl footy and should now get a good pre-season under his belt heading into 2012. lake is a bit more of a risk as he is being eased back into it for round 1, but if it all goes to plan, he'll be in my team.

No - Kane Lucas will not be in my side.

I think you mean interrupted....

Quality post cotter and plenty of food for thought there.
  • Of the list the only one I'm dead set locking away is Big Nick Riewoldt. As I've been banging on about 2011 was an anomoly - of that I'm bullish.
  • Like to have a look at Brad Dick in the NAB - I like the way that kid plays.
  • James McDonand shouldnt be laughed at - he'l play enough games to become a bit of a pat cash cow but there are too many before him..

If Nick Riewoldt can stop flopping it out then he can notch up a 100 average.

Thanks, Brown was a lock for me but I'm now considering Riewoldt it will be a last minute decision unless one of them get injured.

I really do like Brad Dick hopefully he can stay fit because he has the talent and might be able to get some game time as that 'small forward'

James McDonald is dirt cheap I am probably leaning toward having him in my team.

assistant coaches dont agree and was voted best trainer or something in qatar and at only 157k :thumbsu:

stiffy joncock has got to be in your team if you know what your doing. Preseason reports say he is in the best physical shape of his life. Absolutel lock regardless of NAB performance.

Obviously I have no grasp on my own team.

Bower is behind Russell, Duigan, Laidler & White for a spot in our backline as a medium-sized defender. Yarran has the small spot locked in and Henderson & Jamison are our KPP's.

There was a reason we tried to shop Bower to every club possible during trade week - you won't see much of him in 2012. 3-4 games at the absolute most to cover injuries. I guarantee it.

His average dropped 15ppg last year and at 29 his best is behind him. Not sure losing the pot belly makes him a lock.

Isn't Duigan injured?
