Is anybody else having trouble with their clock on MS Windows.

I set it about a week ago. in 7 days it fallen 135 minutes behind.

And it seems to be getting slower exponentially. Yesterday it was 60 minutes behind. so its lost 75 minutes in one day.

Can someone tell me what i can do. its really annoying cause its the only clock in my computer room.

Yes mines been doing that for about a year and a 1/2 now!!

Ive got no idea whats wrong with it, maybe the Y2K bug has come atlast :D

Perhaps the electrical current in your home isn't running at a constant rate. This is how conventional clocks come to run fast or slow :confused:

Bill Gates has bought Greenwich.

With Greenwich in his control he has been able to legally slow down time. This instantly makes all clocks on earth redundant. Look out for the new MS Clock coming to a store near you.

Each year the time system will change, requiring you to buy a new clock. Also, for no apparant reason, your clock will reset itself to 12:00am. It is programmed to do this at the most inconvenient moment...like when you have to wake up for an exam, or a job interview...this "feature" is not documented but is one of the best selling features of the MS Clock.

To reset the clock yourself you must put one finger in your left ear, one finger up your bum, and one finger between the two biggest toes on your right foot....count to ten and sing hellelujah.

I think you will find this is the problem.

I have the same problem - and have had it since I bought this new computer about 6 months ago. It turns out that the 'losing' of time is known fault with windows, and mostly prevelant in windows 98. There is nothing you can do to actually fix it premanently, however you can try this.

When you restart your computer get into the Bios Setup. If the clock is running slow there as well you have more than likely got a Bios update problem, a clock 'chip' problem or the 'battery' is running down and will need to be replaced.

If the time is correct in Bios but losing time in Windows, then there isn't much you can do except restart your computer often, and give it some 'down' time each day.

Unfortunately there is no 'patch' on the windows site to fix this. Just the info that they do actually know about it.
 
I'm glad I'm not the only one but I have the problem with Windows 98 at work. None of the IT people I've asked know anything about it.
 
I've had my computer with Win98 for 3 years and haven't had a problem with the clock. If at all anything it may sometimes be 5 mins ahead.

Danni is right, if you clock is losing time it means you need a new bios battery.

We have no major problems with our clock, it is ALWAYS 5 mins fast though, no matter what you do with it. :mad: that's kinda a good thing I guess, though!!!!! :D lol
