Is anyone having problems with theres? My hasn't let me sign in from about 5:30 to now, 11:37. Is anyone having probs with it as well?

Nope having no Problems.

I'm in at the moment.

The only problem I had was this afternoon when I tried to look at my email it said something about it being un available.

OMG! Its so frustrating! I keep getting a message saying:

We were unable to sign you in to the .NET Messenger Service, possibly because of a problem with your internet connection. Please try again later.

I've had this message before but usually I can go on in a couple of hours or sometimes I just need to wait like 5 minutes and then It'll finally sign in, and its not doing that.

I don't see anything wrong with my internet connections, and It won't let me check my email, it keeps just going to a Cannot Be Displayed page. GRRR!

I have had that problem before.

It was happening for ages.

Are you behind a firewall? That might be the problem.

If you have the new messenger (version 6) it might well be a firewall problem. My firewall kept blocking messenger for a while, was so annoying.

If you have Windows XP:

Start
Connect To
Show All Connections
Right Click on your connection
Go to Properties
Go to the Advanced Tab and see if the Firewall box is ticked.

If you dont have Windows XP im not sure.

I kinda have a problem. I have version 3.6 of msn that is vulnerable security wise. Everytime i log on, it gives me this message:

".NET Messenger Service Staff says:
You are running a version of messenger that requires an immediate security update. Please visit http://messenger.msn.com/Help/Upgrades.aspx to complete the update."

Anyone have this? It depends on how old your msn is. I just can't be stuffed upgrading it now, so i hope like hell nothing happens to my computer.

I didn't even know there was a version that old.

Just download MSN 6.0. Its only like 4 MB.

Well I know that on Windows XP there is a firewall with your internet connections. I have had Windows 98 and I didn't see any there so I doubt there is one. Any Firewall that you might have might be blocking this.

The same thing happened with me when I was using a firewall.

Although I could get into MSN Messenger 4.7 not 6.0 though.

Well I guess you have MSN 6.0.

The only thing i think you could do is download a older version of MSN.

Keep signing in. It does come up with that nearly all the time especially when it is MSN's fault.

I had this problem a while ago.. I just rang my isp thinking it was them haha the nice friendly guy told me it had something to do with Kazaa

it had installed some program that all of a sudden ooh i dunno

but yeah that was my problem, he guided me through deleting the program and it was all fixed

Hmmm..Maybe its got to with Kazaa. I've got Kazaa myself, and I searched for Firewall on my comp and it came up with that on Kazaa, But I've had Kazaa for ages and it hasn't affected my MSN...Ah, Thats reminds me. Paparazzi by Xzibit has just downloaded

Are you able to log into any secure sites? If not, this may fix your problem:

Click "Start", then "Run". Type "regsvr32 softpub.dll" (without the quotes)

See how that goes.

A friend of mine had heaps of problems with version 6.0 and went to download an older version and couldn't find any!!!!!!

Just on the Kazaa thing, I have it too and it doesn't affect my messenger except when I'm playing games, it lags everything and I have to shut it down.

Yeah.

I know someone that cant use MSN when he is using Kazaa.

I have the problem at times.

I haven't downloaded anything from Kazaa though for ages.

I think there may be an older version of MSN on www.download.com I didnt download an older version. I have Windows Messenger which came with my computer and MSN messenger 6.0 that I downloaded.

Yeah at least Windows XP comes in handy for something.

I usually use 6.0 so I can play games though.

The games are ok but Overall MSN 6.0 in my opinon is a lot better then any other versions of MSN and Windows Messenger.
