Ok, if I pick say 3 specific events, how do they come up with the odds? Ie if I have one event where my selection is paying $2, one paying $3 and the other paying $4, what would the odds be?

ah a "multi" or "parlay".
In the decimal system, ie ours, the odds are simply multiplied.
so 2 x 3 x 4 = $24
Good fun, but not the easiest thing in the world to hit. Pays good tho, but risk is upped a fair bit, especially when going for a bit of value.
If you hit your first bet, can always hedge etc and obviously you would then be playing with real good odds, with a break even etc as your worst case scenario. Need the "If" but.
