ANy thoughts on this area? House values have dropped down a lot. A large amount of rentals in the area as well which isnt ideal for capital growth but at least will get tenants.

A lot of spare land out this way which has me concerned taht there will be a massive over supply of houses.

I am from Sydney, anyone know much about this area and think their is much hope for capital growth?

Depends what your motivation for buying is - to live in or to rent out.

Heavy supply of rentals increases competition for tenants and can put downwards pressure on rents, leading to lower returns. Tenants come and go so if you intend living there you may cop some average neighbours now and again.

Have prices bottomed out or still falling? What makes you interested in this area over others?
