Nab cup- format-

So im pissed we lost but as we all know and understand its just nab cup and know one really cares ....or do they...

Well i don't actually care that we lost but i did love to get a taste of footy and it was great to see those young blokes playing and now that we lost there's no coverage of our scratchie's tv, foxtel or radio and not even stats and match report if i remember correctly , i think it's time for a format change so we could get three rnd robbin games im sure fox would broadcast if there official nab matches ,i know its mickey mouse but if there gonna play we might aswell be able to watch i certainly want to .

i was thinking something like this ..

Two divisions based on last years regular season ladder pos odds and evens

DIV 1 DIV 2
GEEL HAW
W/BULL ST/KILDA
ADEL SYD
NTH/MEL COLL
RICH BRIS
CAR ESS
PT/AD FREO
W/C MEL


It wouldn't matter how you fixture it could be rd1 1-v-8,2-v-7 etc
then rd2 1-v-2 ,3-v-4 etc or however then either extend nab cup to 5 weeks and have semi finals div 1 1st v's div2 2nd and vice versa or just have 1st from each div playoff in the final at least then we get a minimum of three matches.

so what do you think any other proposals...

good idea. the nab cup is a joke... some teams take it serious,others not. get rid of the nab cup all together i reckon. one intraclub, then one scratchmatch then into the season i reckon.. 24 or 25 game season

Yep, agree. Need to get it down to 12 -14 teams so each team plays each other twice. Never happen though.

The teams are trying to expose most of their list to some match practice. Why not have 4 pools, 2 matches a week, with shortened games.

Scrap it. The NAB cup games these days are still quite skillful and competitive. I dont think many teams would have a problem having a scratch match, and then launching into the season.
