It’s not so much the tackles, he’s a connector between the middle and forwards. He & Reid are genius together creating scoring opportunities.

I'd go as far as saying that the Darcy Jackson combo is probably the difference between the two sides.

i think it will be our defense. GC's strength is in clearances but they are not the cleanest team going forward (not much difference from the Bullies).

We typically win largely because of our scores starting from D50. If our defense cleans out those GC entries fast as we did against the Bullies, most of our scores will come from fast rebounds that GC has had trouble containing this season. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a run on in a quarter and pile on a bunch of goals on Sat like most times we play teams like this for a 2-4 goal win. That's my crystal ball anyway.

Who was number 8 against the Brions a few weeks ago? That glans-rash had to have dollars on the game. The umpiring in that game was sadistic. The maggots are probably still laughing about the frees they gave to Morris. "How about that one where I walked him to the goalsquare from the halfback flank?" "Oh yeah - whoooooot - that showed 'em."

I will jump the fence and murder a bum if we get that sort of treatment again and no jury in this wide brown land would jail me.

The Bubba-Dogger combo was seen as such a weapon by Hardwick that they played another ruckman to counter last time. Moyle. I don't think they'll do that again which really puts the acid on Witts to get it done all day.

He's a monster and probably the only ruckman in the comp who can push Bubba for size and strength but can he do it all day?

Over and above wearing their opposition down, this is where Jackson being a freak and Bubba being a lefthanded monster really comes in to play. Normally if the oppo ruck is ascendant, you just rove to his hand but if the ruckman is also a ruckrover, hitting the deck and clearing his own taps, or he's a huge lump of manmeat continually squirting the ball out in ways you can't expect, then **** that for a game of soldiers.

Gold Coast kept Moyle in last time the two sides met.
Probably will use Ethan Read this time, but Jackson should surely dominate as second ruck.

Bit of cat and mouse here. Last time we were pretty effective in blunting their post cleanance efficiency. Forced them backwards out of stoppages. Will we try the same thing again? Will they prepare a counter or assume we won't try the same approach twice?

love to see the stats for WC free kicks in their F50 'with Margetts' and 'without him' since '21. Think it would be quite enlightening.

I'm sure he has contributed to the generall discourse when watching a WC game with their supporters that every contest should result in a free. Don't get that with Freo and other supporters.
