How many Carlton people on here actually live in Southern Tas?

There is a Nab Cup game coming up in Launceston, I want to organise a busload of Carlton supporters to go up together and watch the game, make a bit of noise.

Anyone interested, let me know. Anyone know of any Carlton supporters who do live in Hobart, and are not on BigFooty, please pass them onto this thread.

Cheers.

I think Blues_Man and Ozbomb live in Tasmania, but i'm not sure if they live in Hobart or not.

I live in Brisbane so can't really come. I was wondering though if you know when practice matches start (not pre-season comp)?
Depending how far you go in the NAB cup murphy3, if you get knocked out in round 1 the praccy matches begin the next week.

As far as intra clubs go We usally have a full scale practice match against eachother a week before our first nab cup game....Whites V Blues.

Other scratch matches should be starting very shortly.

I am a Launceston boy and am hoping like hell the Blues manage to advance against Essendon so I can see the team in action...

Are the prac games usually played in country/rural areas?? if so, have heard that most of these grounds will be unavailable due to the drought...... they're un-playable
?????????????

I know in Brisbane, the AFL test every ground for suitable standard of playing surface. It involves them sampling a number of areas of the ground, and if one of them is too hard the ground can be considered unsuitable for play.

I know a few of my mates and I would be keen on coming, but I suppose we have to wait and see if we beat Essendon before organising anything.

On a completely unrelated note, two of my mates got kicked out of the cricket today for counting backwards from 10 to start a mexican wave. That, on top of a security guard stabbing a kids blow-up Boony doll for no reason, ruined a pretty good day.

Yes it seems the fun has gone from cricket these days. It's always good value up on the hill though.

To stab a blow up Boonie doll, at the ground where there is a life-size statue of Boonie at the gates, is just unneccessary. What is wrong with people.

Did they stop people from making the snakes with the used beer cups as well??

Sheesh!

Geez, the caterers will make a huge profit for an event like that in Tassie if they charge per head...;) :D

Gee wow. I didn't realise we were back in Primary School. That's bloody hilarious that is.

Melbournians have a complex about having to be the best, always in competition with Sydney, always putting down Tassie. Leave us alone, what have we ever done to upset you guys?

No one finds the two-heads thing funny except for people in Vic. It's like a primary school joke that never grew up.

Bad day at work AWG? Strewth, I don't actually believe people in Tassie have two heads...just scars on their shoulders from where the 2nd head was removed!:D

Just kidding, and besides we don't have anything against Taswegians up here in Melb. You guys are like a little brother, rough him up a little bit, but there's plenty of love!

True there's a long standing rivalry with Sydney, however IMO having actually lived there for a couple of years, I've got no idea why...there's nothing to do there unless you surf...makes winter bloody boring...or cold!

Speaking of primary school jokes....what do you call a fly with no wings? A walk....oh those were the days...maybe we should start a thread on bad jokes!

We'll beat essendon, I'd love to go to tassie for the 2nd match, gotta love that cascade draught.

Yep and we can all go on a tour of the Cascade factory. And then the Cadbury chocolate factory.

Although, the game will be up in Launceston, so it will have to be the Boags factory....

at least they give you free samples i suppose. :p
