WHEN Robbie Nahas' career reached a plateau last season, the Tiger rover decided it was time for actions to speak louder than words, writes Jon Ralph.
ROBBIE Nahas doesn't want a shred of complacency to enter his psyche, and you can understand why.
Back in 2009, when he was Richmond's best first-year player, AFL boss Andrew Demetriou sealed his status as a cult figure by gushing "R Nahaaaaaassss" on Brownlow Medal night.
Then the music stopped.
"I didn't play anywhere near good enough football to get close to a Brownlow vote last year," Nahas says.

As someone who gave him grief last year and through the preseason I'm happy to see that Robbie realised that he wasn't working hard enough and is now reaping the rewards of all the hard work he did put in. Hopefully it continues for the rest of his career.

Also there is another article about how Nahas is in awe of our revival:

THERE are a few indisputable facts Robbie Nahas has learnt in his 42 games at Richmond.
Firstly, Trent Cotchin is a future captain with more than a hint of Gary Ablett about him.

Secondly, Jake King is the type of player who would die for his teammates on the field, even if it meant taking on Fremantle giant Aaron Sandilands.

And, last but definitely not least, not to ask Dustin Martin about those tattoos on his neck (a famous don't-argue may be just be around the corner).

Nahas says credit for the club's revival should go to the coaching staff for their leadership and clear and coherent plans.

He says that everywhere he looks at Tigerland there are players who continue to show enormous signs of improvement.

Really highlights what it means to be part of a team that is winning. Not being involved when we won those games last year obviously cut deep. Hopefully that is the case for several others right now, as we are on a similar run.

Absolutely love Dimma's mantra. He really pushes these guys along the right paths, making sure they have the right balance in life, which ensures they have the right mindset and hunger to play.

This culture we are building is inspiring. It all starts with the culture. Love your club, love your teammates, kill yourself on the track and field to play for them.

Great read but I like the last two paragraphs the best

"I don't want to leave this club," he says. "It has given me my opportunity. I owe them a lot. Hopefully I can repay them with plenty of years of consistent football.
"I don't want to come in, have a little go and then say, 'See you later'. I want to stay and hopefully build towards a succesful era for the Richmond Football Club."

that really put smiles on tiger faces and shows just how good a group we are building :thumbsu:

I think back a few years when Northey had us playing well and the boys were living with and for each other. In todays football world it's this type of mateship that can give one team the ultimate edge over another.

What we are seeing with these so called "fringe" players this year is the old adage.

"Great teams make Great players", when you get a bunch of guys all buying into a plan and playing as a unit with consistent effort and belief in each other, all of a sudden the individual parts start to look like world beaters, when in fact they are just role players.

Thumbs up to guys like Robbie for busting his gut and buying into the team first ethos, and Thumbs up to the coaching staff who I couldnt praise highly enough.
