T McKenzie will be handy for me if like Lonergan he can remain thereabouts... Both on track for ton until the head clash

Graham was nice but was hoping he would get more midfield minutes

Was worried about having both Kerridge and Graham, but they did well. As did Wells.

Zaharakis seemed like an obvious choice for me, as did Hall, and both paid off. Dea was a reasonable investment too.

Overall I should score 2000 which is good for me. Took Charlie Dixon more as a sentimental choice for a Port supporter. At 1/4 time he was 0 fantasy points but at the end of the day 81 which is OK for $329K. And he looks like he can only improve. Kerridge, Wells and Weitering all scored well for sub-$200K players and Dea was $170K and scored 71. I've got a number of cheapies and others with low break evens so I expect my cap to increase pretty quickly.

NicNat, Ablett,Hall,Yeo all look like keepers in my side

Ablett, Hall yes they should be keepers.

NicNat - you'd want to have Goldy/S Martin in by the byes so don't know if he's a keeper. Never know though
Yeo - would be surprised if he finished in the top 6 defenders.

I like his role, has the license to go wherever he wants. He's thereabouts for a top 6-10 defenders.

Yea, i just love the man. Probably showing a little bit of West Coast bias but he scored 133 on 67% game time, thats brilliant. It looks like he's finally sorted out his marking too.

Maybe a silly question, but why does it matter if you have Goldy/S Martin in the byes? As long as you have 18 high scoring players, does it matter if they're ruckmen?

For what it's worth, i went Goldy/NicNat, because NN only played 80% game time last season, the lowest of all the 1st rucks. If you scale him up to 90-95% game time, he out-scores everyone in points per minute. This week he only played 67% which is concerning (though he scored really, really well). But if he plays 95% game time like the other rucks, he could well be the top scoring ruck this year.

Big fan of both but having had them both last year, they just weren't consistent enough for me to use as more than a stepping stone. Did well today but let's see how we go vs. Hawthorn.

I get your logic but I don't think it'll happen. We have the luxury of having Lycett in the team who is more competent than the average second ruck and my guess is that while Naitanui is in pretty top form right now, there will be games where he backs off a bit more. Would love to be wrong though and have him play like that every week, even at 67% game time.

Also, Martin was off whack this week but I'm guessing that part of it was due to him not really competing for taps (possibly felt he couldn't really outtap Naitanui as he did compete with Lycett), and the other part was that the Lions played more of a running-handball game which doesn't really suit a marking ruckman.

It would be a huge surprise if Nic Nat is the top scoring ruck this year. Don't see it happening, in his 8 season's he's only averaged above 70's twice. He could very well average in the mid 90's which would be a big step up for him, but still wouldn't be the #1 scoring ruck.

Ofcourse we don't know for sure what's going to happen, all we can do is play the percentages. For this reason I say it's more than likely that Goldy and S Martin will be the 2 highest scoring rucks again this season, so a high percentage play would be to have both of them by around the mid way point. When I said to aim for both around the byes it was just a reference to a good time frame, not specifically to have them just "for" the byes. They both share the same bye (round 15) which makes things interesting.

Hall was my 2nd last traded in player this year. I can't believe I nearly didn't have him!

A couple of guys I was pretty happy with.

Smith @ 82 points in 2nd ruck. He won't get 3 goals each week, but his work and tackling round the ground were pretty good 1st up. Structurally, I think he's geelongs most important get, they've needed a ruck like him for a while.

Mackenzies 87 was decent, especially given he spent a fair chunk of the 3rd on the bench assessed for a head knock.

Lecras and Duncan I was pleased to see have rewarded the extra money spent on them, they both hit the ton, and don't see any reason to suggest they won't match that for much of the year.

If dixon runs riot on the bombers that would be a nice pick up. Might get him in for that game only, get a big score from him and make 20-30k. Looking at doing this if i have spare trades, and just get players who are up against the bombers.

Was unsure also about Ah Chee but with the news that White will be out for 12 weeks his TOG should go up. Josh Kennedy for games in WA could be a good bet. At the moment I'm concerned with Martin and Pendlebury. It may seem like over-reaction after just one game but both have huge break evens. Luckily Luke Parker is in good form after his exceptional NAB and first h/a and has a BE of 72 only.
Traded in Goldstein for Martin and Parker for Pendlebury.
