Don't give a shit who we get, just as long as he's a ball-winning, potentially strong bodied-inside midfielder in the mould of Simon Black.

Priority speaking, we can live without the agile ruckman-cum-resting forward Kreuzer-types, or flashy hff Cotchin-types.

For god sakes, I implore you RFC - get someone who can get the pill and set-up play.

If that be the young boy from East Fremantle so be it, but please make him win his own ball and be able to hit a target.

Hereth ends Don's rant

I disagree. We need a quality bigman who will give our midfield first use of the ball and kick a few goals too. Have a look at leuenberger. Looks like he will be in the Cox mould. I think our midfield will be ok in 2 years.

Quality ruckman can be found later in the draft. Elite extractors, creative types can't.
Yeah because Nathan Foley was a really highly rated draft pick.:thumbsu::rolleyes:

I agree with big man statement but disagree with the midfielder one, other than foley we are getting spanked in the midfield.

It took Nathan Foley three years where he is at. Maybe we saw something that the other teams did not. Great to have Axel with us. When is Foley out of contract?

So was Sam Mitchell. Both Sam and Nathan are easily the two best clearance players and i think it shows to look beyond the regular mold when using your later picks (i.e. take a chance on a smaller player). I think Shelton from coburg could be a good guy to look at for a late draft pick or rookie. He is as hard as they come and his skills arn't bad either.

Is Shelton any good? I dont see the point if he ends like a Meyer and we whinge about him in two or three years time. We have to be sure who we draft and have to be patient in who we pick up.

I saw Peterson play against the Northern Bullants Reserves and he was easily the best player on the ground.

Fairly tall (around 190 I'd say?) and had a great leap - but you could tell by his footwork that he was a class above everyone else on the ground (bar Nathan Brown that game). The again, it was only VFL Reserves level - but he does need to pack on the pounds a bit. Could be a very handy, pacey flanker type or wingman.

Just because you want that type of player - doesn't mean they exist. It ain't shopping at Coles. The closest players to that description would be Ebert, Grimes and Selwood and none are likely to be top-10 picks.

I've seen Peterson on several occasions and fairdinkum with natural improvement and physical development he could be anything. I'm yet to see Collins, has anyone else?

Collins had the one senior game before getting hurt. Then a false-start come back in the ressies. He certainly looked a natural in that senior game. Certainly one to watch at Coburg next year.

What sort of position at AFL level?

He played ruck-rover / centreman. Was mostly a BP/HBF in juniors. He'll claim Hyde's spot and put pressure on Jackson and Polo for the tagger spot in a year or two.

Very tidy in traffic, composed, and doesn't fumble. Makes good decisions. Not at all spectacular - just efficient. Probably edged Neville in that one game as the most effective midfielder.

The club seem very excited and it is a shame he got hurt - I think he would have made a late season debut like Connors.
