This is just a selection of comments on this forum, in the past, regarding our AA CHB. Names have not been included, to protect the guilty. This is to save people trawling through the 'novel' of a 'maligned' thread I recently bumped up (although, It makes great reading if you want to!)

It is mostly as a reminder/warning about harshly judging young footballers, before they have been given a chance. I don't think we should be writing off any of the young kids on our list.

Nathan Bock deserves all the maligning he gets.

He got torn a new one by D Schell (one of the softest flops the crows have had on their list) and was useless in the SANFL finals.

I want this bloke off our list ASAP as i feel his place is not in the AFL but moreso the Woodville West Torrens reserves.

I'm also hoping N Bock is sipping Pena Coladas on a beach somewhere lamenting his axing and Ian Perrie is negotiating a new contract with the South Fremantle B's simply because our youngsters have developed so rapidly that these two fools can't get a gig.

He hasn't the body for a KPP or the pace for a roaming flanker,is not a penetrating kick. in fact i'm not sure how he gets a game.

Plenty more examples for him and other players going back years mate. Fact is, for all the talent scouts supposedly going around on BigFooty, only a handful of them have anything resembling a good consistent read on the prowess of an emerging footballer. And of those that do, plenty will demonstrate a lack of appreciation/understanding of the time and development aspect, specifically how it can vary and deceive.

Now I'm not saying I'm bloody perfect, but cripes, I wish people would get some perspective on things sometimes, ease up on the knee-jerk reactions.

I've always rated Bocky, but in the defense of some posters, players develop and change; some make it, some don't.

Obviously we all know that, but if Bocky made the next step to be a better than average footballer - plenty don't. (and kept making them to be the absolute gun he is now).

Please name the posters! Those are gold. I hope I'm not one of them. (If I am then someone must have hacked into my account... or my room mate must have posted something while I was in the can... or that was from back when I was dropping acid at uni...)

We should trawl through the archives more often and revisit people's opinions. Those opinions buried by time that we hope people have forgotten about. A bit of accountability would give all of us a healthy dose of egg on face on occassions. Plus the humour. What about all the people who blasted the appointment of Neil Craig? And then how angry they got when people bumped those threads later on?

And people shouldn't be too worried about writing players off early. If you post something that turns out to be completely ridiculous and ruins your reputation, then you can just change user names.

I have owned up a number of times to some comments I amde about Bock that were less than compimentary.

surely thoug after sitting through a 140 point thumping in a grand final where he played like a blouse, gives me some excuse.

Couldn't be happier how its turned out though.

On the other sie of teh coin, I really rated David Gallagher
