plenty of coaches have turned us down in the past, thompson, malthouse, blight, plenty more will, the desperate ones will take the risk, the quality ones who believe in themselves and know they have what it takes will wait for a better prospect. Thats the truth of it, now deal with it, some of you are in lala land

I believe west coast went hard for Buckley but were turned down hence all the current talk in the media of a new contract for worsfold. Buckley clearly wants to stay in melbourne. I would guess richmond will have buckley or malthouse.

As supporters would you want a rookie coach at this point in your development.

I would be rapt to land Buckley. Guys like him and Michael Voss were basically assistant coaches in there last 3 to 4 years of playing. The younger players would have learnt far more off them than any of the assistants. He commands respect, is a great leader of men and obviously has a fantastic football brain. One thing he will not do is tolerate mediocracy on the field and on the track, it is well known that he prepared himself better than anyone else playing. You would expect nothing else from a team that he coached.
Although only still new to the game, Voss has so far proven that this type of experiment can work.

Love those calls that can never be proven. In the same category as "best captain in the league" or "most inspiring."
