Alot of talk about "The Depression" possibly seeking a trade to Wet Toast....would we be interested? Has similar stats to that of Snake up forward & about same age.

It seems from what's in the media in WA, that Cameron Schwab is pretty keen try sign Simmonds instead of trading of him, but if he does go, perhaps Thompson would be perfect for our forward set up?

1 scenario (albeit hypothetical)...

Simmonds & Freo's 2nd round pick to Roos
Sinclair to Freo
Roos 1st Round pick (pick 10?) to Hawthorn
Grover to Hawthorn
Thompson to Freo

Hypothetically speaking of course?????? don't u love pre-trade week?

I wouldn't take Sinclair back, we have too many players in his mould. Plus with Heath Black looking to come back I would much prefer to target him over Sinclair.

As for Thompson, he is a good player when he is on song, kind of like Farmer and Medhurst. But having 3 inconsistent forwards in the one team is going to kill you. I would prefer to give Murphy and Campbell more game time next year and perhaps move McPharlin up forward. Mundy has been coming along pretty well in the WAFL this year and with a bit of bulk over the summer, I could really see him coming into the team next season.

I think our priorities during trade period should be:
1) Carr
2) Black
3) Hadley
4) Bradshaw
5) Damon White

That’s not to say that we're going to get any of these players, but I think we need to pick up at least 2 pure midfielders to give our list some flexibility and allow Pav to play closer to goal.

I agree with FreoDocker about Thompson, we already have enough inconsistent forwards.

As for our trade week priorities, I think we should concentrate on Carr then Black. Apart from those two, we really don't need to make any drastic personnel changes, just pull our fingers out and play some hard ball.

Forget Stinger. The last thing we need is someone who doesn't really want to be there, however good they may be.

I reckon we should persevere with Snake , if possible.

Watching the finals , you can see just how valuable a bulky forward can be, and although Snake didn't kick bulk goals he did do a lot of work off the ball protecting Justin when he drifted forwards.
Although he is not perfect , We have no one else as good at this stage and there doesn't appear to be any better options avalable via trade.

What, the Stinger that all the weavs fans on BF didn't want cos he was over-rated and would only be the 9th best mid-fielder and wasn't worth anything more than a 2nd round opick?

That one??
