I thought they only took 3 mins, which I guess is still long for what everyone knew.

Thon Maker at #10 was most surprising.

Yeah, saw a story where the big players are going to be doing a lot of 1 plus 1 year contracts, with opt out clauses.

The reason is the salary cap is set to increase significantly over the next few years. It's a good time to be a basketball player in the nba. Mike Conley is a good example of this
 
Lakers are ****ed.

FO is a disaster. No players want to come here. Jim Bus is a dickhead. Jeanie is better but comprimised with Phil and by Jim. Mitch is pulling strings but not getting value anymore.

LAL have young talent but need a big Vet type to come in and lead them - and they cant get one.

Just dropped 60 mill on a 7.1 centre. Will help but 60 million?

Meanwhile Jerry West keeps building a solid base in GS with KD now....

Funny.. the LAL diehards are calling KD a pussy for bailing on OKC and going to GS - yet the LAL has been built on taking FA players from other franchises to build winning teams....

Oh how the worm turns... kinda a Blighty goal post move actually...:cool:

PS - i dont watch the NBA at all - been here 16 years never been to a game with Staples Centre 25 mins away.... dont watch it on TV either... does nothing for me.

The money being thrown about is just madness right now.

Lakers would be peeved that they've missed out on a few big fish. Mosgov is definitely not going to help them, i'm thinking that they'll be mediocre again.

I stopped really watching nba after my team moved. The sonics were great, but unfortunately profits mean more.

Is that Basketball or NBA?
The super team approach is interesting.. its really an amplification of what happens in AFL.. so few players each FA becomes far more influential.
LAL having a tear... really feel for them .. Go Celtics..

Something going on in OKC, he could have got more money from OKC and they nearly beat the Warriors. And he just walked away from them.

Derozan, Conley, Mozgov, Parsons all awful for a myriad of reasons. Even 20m for Wade is crazy.

Westbrook from OKC will end up there, bookmark it....grew up around there and went to UCLA from memory. Just denied a contract extension and his mate had left. OKC will be scared and trade him.

Mozgov is a Cav cast off...he is marginally better than Hibbert who he replaced.

Agree westbrook is as good as gone. Lakers have to sign someone, as there's a base cap that they must pay. They don't want a superstar, because they'll offer westbrook max salary.

Poor OKC though, moved from seattle with the superstar Durant, picked up westbrook, and good role players. Back to the lottery?

Move back to seattle please

Lakers paid for Mozza and Dung and extended Clarkson...think they they have hit all salary KPI's.

Lost Harden and recently traded Ibaka.

Depends how the situation with Westbrook plays out, will be competitive at this stage but no longer Western conference contenders.

So he has looked at it.. and seen Heat win and now Cavs... He might not have liked it but the system created the result. Its probably amplified to what happens in afl... I think those who level criticisms should stop being hypocrites ... change the system if its wrong.

Well he's made the Warriors the most hated team in the league. Even more bandwagon supporters will jump on.

I think their system was working, they were up 3-1 and only had to close a game out; they were right there.

The heat and cavs, well it took a special player to get them there. Also didn't happen straight away, or, all the time.

In fact, only have to look at the Spurs to see how it's done in a small market. They have been more successful than the quick build teams, and why?

Something Durant will never know. When you try to talk the walk, you should accept criticism for failing that talk.
