Watched the Kings V Dragons match.

I'm owed 1 hour and 55 minutes of my life back. :o
Agreed... The Dragons players confidence is shot combined with players like Hendrix and Groves playing selfishly to try and save thier careers. As far as im concerned they both should be getting the ass. In fact i'd only keep Ingles, Holmes, Buston, Hill and Hobba from this years squad.

I couldn't believe how many simple things they couldn't do. Things like helping Martin out when being double teamed, Hendrix with easy layups, Holmes and Hendrix fighting over the same rebound when they were the only 2 players in sight. As well as not being able to take advantage of 3 on 2 or 2 on 1 fast breaks. So rediculously dire. Im tipping we will be much better next season once we can start a fresh.

The question is will we win another game this season?

i only watched a few mins during the game to see how the dragons looked. i dont think i heard a dragons player mentioned! ;)

but seriously, they are utterly biased. wouldnt surprise me if carfino et al jump in the showers after the game  have you watched foxsport whenever nbl is mentioned? might as well have a show about the kings
Carfino did everything but give Dante a headjob after the game in the interview.

I'm tipping some late season joy against New Zealand on Feb 2 at home. NZ are woeful in OZ, so this could be the opportunity if they play the perfect game.

They'll lose the rest of them.

I concur, and whilst Carfino can be biased towards Sydney, but seriously what praise do the Dragons desrve after watching that rubbish, terrible effort, one of the worst displays by a team i have seen for a long while. Heal has always had some mongrel in him, seems a shame he can't inspire it into his players.

Who cares about being bias; the entire Foxtel basketball commentary team is shit. They have no idea about communicating the action of the game to an audience. It’s not on radio FFS.

Bradtke and Gaze could be excused because this is their first year doing the job on a regular basis but Carfino and Casey are useless twats. The Foxtel coverage of the NBL needs someone like Simon Kerle (even if he is the world biggest arse) because he knows the game and how to communicate to his audience with a solid sense of humour.

The Foxtel coverage needs an entire overhaul before the beginning of next season. If they insist upon having Carfino and Casey do the commentaries I would have them watch 200 NBA games over the winter and just listen to how they interact with each other. I don’t recall any NBA commentator broadcasting game like it’s on the radio. And tell them to do some ****ing research.

It’s not to bad being at the game because the standard of competition isn’t half bad but watching any game on Fox is nauseating. I recon I have only watched about 3 games this season.

Dragons lose 89-91 courtesy of a 3 from Franklin with 24 secs left.

What a great move by Heal to give him the ass

Im starting to wonder if i should just give up on the Dragons and the NBL. Heal's imcompetance has tarnished what was suppossed to be an exciting new franchise in Victoria.

Kelvin Robertson bombs away for 37 points off the bench. 12/18 shooting, 7/10 threes.

He really should play more, even with Williams on the floor.

He's a matchwinner.

Anyway, big win for us tonight in the NQ derby against the Frypans. 120-113. In a fair bit of foul trouble late, but managed to crawl home after having a reasonable lead.

In other news, Perth just had to be real ***** and win in Brisbane (Yeah, everyone else has to play them with Ebi  ) :p. They'd have to be hot, hot favourites to close out the top 4 spots.

Cairns, Blaze, Crocs and Breakers should have the other spots sewn up. What order remains to be seen. It's insanely tight.

And in other, other news, when's our next game going to be on TV? We've had 4 all year, one of them on BreakerVision.

thanks :thumbsu:

hurt my dream team though

Hurt the guy who was playing me last week too. :D

My dream team was shocking at the start of the season but I have made some handy trades of late. A bit too late though, as this squad is going to miss the playoffs in my league:

Anstey
Redhage
Lampley
Penney
Hodge

C.Williams
R.Carter
D.Stiff
C.Tovey
T.Behrendorff

Anyone else still taking notice of their team?

Well, with tonights result in NZ, the battle for 4th seems like it might be back on, with the Cats falling back to a 15-11 record.

Townsville lead @ WSR by 10 at HT, so if that stays as is, the Crocs will go to 15-12.

With the Blaze at 14-11, Breakers 14-12 and the Frypans seemingly slipping back at 13-12.

1 win can mean so much now at this point. Can definitely seeing it coming down to splits.

OK so results tonight......

New Zealand 93 - 83 Perth

West Sydney 104 - 111 Townsville

Pretty much established that Sydney will be first. Melbourne/Brisbane fighting it out for 2nd and 3rd. They're the clear top 3.

Then it's 5 teams that could finish anywhere from 4th to 8th.

At present

4th - Perth Wildcats - 15-11 (58%)
5th - Gold Coast Blaze - 14-11 (56%)
6th - Townsville Crocs - 15-12 (56%)
7th - NZ Breakers - 14-12 (54%)
8th - Cairns Taipans - 13-12 (52%)

So it's anyones spot. 7th or 8th is asking for trouble. I can't see 7th or 8th making it past the first elimination game.

HOw does the NBL finals work this year? I remember last yr the cats finished 3rd and got knocked out first round.

Who plays who?

An amazingly stupid system IMO.

3rd and 4th really isn't much different from finishing 5th or 6th.

Crazy that a team like Brisbane/Melbourne, after the seasons they've had, could be knocked out in one game.

3rd and 4th miss the first round and have a home final.

3rd and 4th miss the first round and have a home final.

Missing the first round can be a disadvantage in some cases.

Sure, the home final makes finishing 3rd and 4th a better prospect than 5th or 6th, but it's no guarantee.

I just find it quite ridiculous that a team that finishes 3rd can be eliminated after one bad game.

And in other, other news, when's our next game going to be on TV? We've had 4 all year, one of them on BreakerVision.

Ha! :D

Someone must have been listening.

2 of our last 3 games are being televised.

V Brisbane and @ Cairns

Sweet :thumbsu:

------------------

Last 4 games on TV during the regular season are..

6 Feb - Dragons vs. Taipans
9 Feb - Crocodiles vs. Bullets
13 Feb - Wildcats vs. Blaze
16 Feb - Taipans vs. Crocodiles.

Crikey, the last 3 games that are televised will actually mean something

Very Un-Foxlike.

Finally the streak is broken....

Congrats :thumbsu:

Great week for the Dragons, getting rid of that idiot Heal and then breaking the 14 game losing streak.

Even better it was against Cans :D :thumbsu:

Oh, and after all my bitching about Crocs games not being on, I can't watch our game against Brisvegas anyway. Moving house and no foxtel until Thursday :( :thumbsd:
