Perhaps in the NIT...

Marquette (yes, Marquette!) are the first team to book their place in the Final Four.

They not only upset Kentucky, 83-69, but absolutely outclassed them. Dwayne Wade got a triple-double to pace Marquette, who go to their first Final Four for the first time since their 1977 National Championship winners.

A follow up to who made the final four.

The 65th edition of 'March Madness' features just one number one seed (Texas), a bona-fide Cinderella story (Marquette), a returnee form last year (Kansas) and a young team from a veteran school that has defied the experts (Syracuse).

Good luck to Carmello. None of my four are left. Guey with Kansas and Syracuse is our resident NCAA expert.

From what little I know about College ball, I'm a big fan of TJ Ford. In the glimpses I've seen of him, I love that killer instinct he has about him.

So, Texas it is.

Yeah Im a big fan of TJ Ford too but Im also a big Carmelo fan and IIRC Texas play Syracuse in the semi. My only pick to make it through was Syracuse so Ill stick with them.

What time is the NCAA final on ESPN? 2 p.m., I think? Provided that my skills of calculating time difference from back home aren't letting me down...

Should be a wonderful game...

It starts in 15 minutes - 11AM EST...

'Cuse have come to play... Gerry McNamara - oh me, oh my!

D'oh!! Always throws me whenever those in the States go back on Daylight Savings Time... 16 hours difference between San Jose to Melbourne now.

Good game, from what I've seen, but I might catch the evening replay on ESPN tonight, if Jen will let me. :D

One small observation... has Carmelo Anthony gone missing for Syracuse? Doesn't seem like he's been much of a factor during the second half (mind you, there's five minutes to play, at this writing)...

Don't all congratulate me at once... :p ;)

Anyway, for those who think yours truly is a modern-day Nostradamus - here's a few previous predictions:

13/8/02:

Club: Los Angeles Clippers

Where they'll finish: 3rd or 4th in the Western Conference.

4/10/02:

Eastern Conference Champions: New Jersey (4-0 over Wizards)

NBL Champions: West Sydney Razorbacks (2-1 over 36ers)
NBL Most Valuable Player: Simon Dwight (18ppg, 10rpg, 3bpg)

17/10/02:

I'd say Freo Fighters would have the best team thus far...

I was working so I had to throw a tape in this morning but I wasnt sure when it was starting...my stupid remote control wasnt working for the video so I couldnt change it to long play as to assure I got the game. Well I got home and was watching the game...Cuse up by 2 with 37 seconds left...Im on the edge of my seat and my freaking tape stops!!!

****!

Had to jump on the net to see who won!

Glad the Orangemen held on though, was a good game. McNamara was unconcious in that first half. Hinlich (sp?) didnt show up though and never got his game going.

What did I tell you guys about Carmelo??

Hes pretty goddam special.

I hope he doesnt make the mistake and stay in School. Even though he would be a lock to go #1 next year.

hes achieved everything, time to goto the NBA and create some huge headlines.
