One of my faves too.
just finished waging heavy peace, man tells a great story. Anyone here read it?

Yes, I read it late last year.

It's a great read, it meanders a fair bit, a bit like a Crazy Horse jam.

Looks like I'll need to do some more homework... another Neil Young show announced, March 13 at The Plenary in Melbourne.

Sorry. 'Words (Between the Lines of Age)'

Words live with the late Ben Keith is among the more hauntingly beautiful renditions of a Neil song you are bound to experience, its an unusual song with its waltz like doom vibe, one of my favourite from Harvest

Not likely to be performed but Neil has done some incredible versions of "All Along The Watchtower" there's a beauty with Bruce Springsteen in 2004 and off course Neil with Booker T and the MG's at Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary concert back in 1992 which isnt even available on ****ing DVD!!!

I'm wondering if we'll see Neil and Bruce on stage together in Australia at some time in March. There's certainly plenty of opportunity if they did want to make it happen.

Is he the kind of guy likely to play songs from Buffalo Springfield or CSN? I mean the ones he didnt write...ie Stills songs...

As far as Non Crazy Horse material goes Mr Soul and Needle and the Damager Done are most likely to be played but they are Neil's songs. I dont think he will be playing the songs of others, I would highly doubt he will do Stills songs on a Crazy Horse tour.
.
I am tipping 3-4 songs from Psychedelic Pill and the rest Neil and Crazy Horse staples.

Just the Perth Arena show mate. Yourself?
I've got Rod Laver GA tickets (and should have a photo pass to that one too) and hoping to pick up a ticket to the show at The Plenary, I was thinking of a Day on the Green at Geelong as well but now the more intimate show is scheduled for Melbourne I think I'll give it a miss.

More of the crowd should have done some "Neil Young and Crazy Horse" homework and they would have elected not to have turned up.

I was suprised that Crazy Horse are now playing wineries, you never would have thought that would happen in the 70's.

I reckon Neil and band of 2009 would have been a better fit playing A Day on the Green and Crazy Horse the better fit playing the Big Day Outs

Naturally, the wine sippers on their checkered blankets took a dislike to the Horse in their ragged glory, are having a whinge that they didn't hear greatest hits, when the band actually played over a dozen of top line Crazy Horse tunes and bloody Heart of Gold, that is a huge concession!

That is what is so great about Neil he doesnt care and he thrives on different reactions to his art and the muse wherever that takes him he will ride it. Like so many occasions over his career his music is getting a reaction, you either get it or you don't.
