A KEY factor in Chris Judd's decision to join Carlton has been unofficially unveiled at Visy Park.

When Judd was lured to the Blues at the end of 2007, he was impressed with the plans for a new training facility, one of many legacies ultimately left by the late Richard Pratt.
Judd and his teammates got the opportunity to view that facility this week, even though the official opening won't be until February.
Pratt, who died aged 74 in April this year, was president of the club for 499 days. One of his final wishes was to ensure Carlton had the best available training equipment.

Nice write up about our new facilities, it is just a pity Jon Anderson had to make reference to one of Caro's favorite Carlton stories, the location of Denis Pagan & Barry Mitchell's office on opposite sides of the ground. Memo Jon, that is all ancient history. Let's stick to the present & the exciting future. Our club has closed the door on those dark days.

Looks like Arden Street just got downgraded to "run of the mill" ;)

"The redevelopment includes a gymnasium and 50m warm-up area that's supported with the latest hydro, medical and rehabilitation facilities."

Hellz yes :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Looks like Jon Anderson got his copy of Inside Carlton yesterday like i did. I think you'll find that's where the quotes come from. :)

too bad the redevelopment is UG-LY! could have designed something more interesting, given its prominent position in the middle of princes park and on royal parade. still, better training facilities means a better team, so that's a good start.

Wandered over to training yesterday morning, but just before 8.30 they hadn't started so I left (there were 2 or 3 kids at one point having shots for goal using the "dribble kick" from the pocket - in my day the "magic kick" was the banana kick).

However, thought the new training facilities and offices looked magnificent, ultra impressive.

Looks like the buildings circling the ground have the very old, the old, the newish and the very new.

Anyone know of any other redevelopment plans for the park?

Would these upgrades bring visy park to the level of the lexus centre? or hopefully greater.

Awesome news thanks for posting :thumbsu:

Cordy's already been doing an excellent job and with better facilities available now he could turn them all into a team of supermans.
