Brendan Murphy of Ireland is gonna come and play for the Swans YAY we need another Irishman as u can tell Irishmen are great at getting the ball like Martin Clarke(Collingwood) he can get past 3 opposition players with the ball and of course TADHG as he is Injured he is a dashing half-back with TADHG still injured it would be GREAT to have an Irishman on the team & Colm Begley (Bisbane) is just like Tadhg (but not injured) dashing half-back
GO THE IRISH!!!:)
(I'm sure that just made no sense!!)

Haha, he hasn't kicked a footy and we already have unrealistically high expectations for him (I'm one of them :D). I guess one of the reasons that they do quite well (well, quite a few of them anyway) is because the Irish kids that do try their luck in the AFL are the very top prospects in Ireland.

From what I heard, Murphy actually spent some time in Sydney for two weeks. It was during the Collingwood match back in round 21 and after we lost, he told someone that next year he'll be there to play against him.

I find that very exciting and as we've seen how successful it has been by migrating fellow irishmen (ie Tadhg and Clarke). :thumbsu: It's good news all 'round.

Is great news , but i cant help but feel sorry for this kid, theres alot of expectation comming from a guy who only picked up the sherrin a little while ago.. Lets jus wait and see how he goes, good on him anyway for getting his chance to make a living from what he loves doing..

I heard that Murphy was a bit hesitant to choose the Swans at first and was going to go to Brisbane to play with Begley. Apparently Tadgh's mother rang Murphy's mother in Ireland and talked to her about things and Tadgh spent alot of time with him we he visited Australia and that convinced him the Swans is the place to be which is great news.

From all reports he was the pick of the youngsters from Ireland. He's quick and extremely explosive. Lets not get carried away and expect him to be as good as Tadhg. Looking forward to seeing him play though some time in the near future.

Im excited the Irishmen are proving to do wonders for AFL
does anyone have a picture of this new boy? How old is he?
Is he a looker lol...Martin Clarke has taken to my liking very much and hes a pie lol so this new swan could be something special
