I want to get a new phone and I was just after a bit of feedback.

I want to get a phone with a good camera and video – this will be for everyday photos as I don't have a separate camera. My contract with 3 has expired but I'm probably just going to sign up on the $29 cap again. I am tossing up between the Samsung F480i, the Sony Ericsson Cybershot C903 or even shelling out a bit more for the 3GS 16gig iPhone.

Ideally I'd like to save money but I'm finding I've been going over my cap lately and am thinking about upgrading to the $39 cap. Then it is only an extra $10 p/month for the iPhone but I've heard that the camera and video is not as good. I like the sound of the iPhone's features but they are not essential and may be more of a time filler/waster than a convenience. (I just read that they don't have an FM radio either.)

I've heard good and bad about the F480 but have read little about whether the F480i has fixed some of those problems. I haven't heard much about the C903.

Does anyone have first hand experience with these phones or is there anything else on 3's $39 cap they would recommend?

The last phone I bought for the same reason (Nokia 6288) was a bit delicate and broke after 6 months. I'm usually very careful with phones but I have been known to drink occasionally, so something that is a bit sturdier would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance.

if you're after a good camera, scratch the iphone. it's 3MP with no flash.

the Sony W995 would seem to be the best bet. 8.1MP camera, with flash, FM tuner etc etc. with reasonable reviews.

I've got the Samsung F480, and its a good phone, but if your planning on keeping alot of photos on there, it gets very laggy when trying to look at them, I have 250+ photos on my external memory, and I can hardly look at them. Its a great phone apart from that great to talk on, easy to text (on prediction).

I would recommend the phone definately, but if your planning on storing stacks of photos on the phone, maybe try another phone.

I've also been recently looking at the Sony Ericsson phones, and they seem great to me, good cameras. Also, aren't the iPhones really expensive to keep, with data allowence and stuff?

Yeah you have to be on a nice little data plan if you are going to use all the online features of the iPhone. However good plans are fairly easy to get. If you are very keen on a good camera skip the iPhone. It really is quite shit and this is coming from someone that owns one. Every Sony Ericsson I have ever owned has always been solid but maybe just that little bit boring. iPhone certainly isn't boring.

I've been doing a budget and it looks like the iPhone is out.

The other phones are out of my price range too.

The F480i seems like it might be a good compromise. Not nearly as many apps as the iPhone but still a bit of fun with a better camera. I plan on uploading my pics regularly so memory space shouldn't be much of a problem. It's also available with 3 months cap free which is attractive.

Has anyone had any experience with Cybershot phones?
