Perfect way to announce it. No reboot, people from the show running/involved. Pains to say it will be Stargate (while still making it for a new audience)

Can't wait.

The Furlings will finally make their mark as the antagonists.

Its hard to explain to anyone not around at the time but Stargate was heading towards Star Trek levels of love. 3 tv series, 3 movies with supposedly more on the way.

But some silly decisions, axing the SG1, axing their movies that were due, axing Atlantis early, then axing their film's.
Then MGM loving awards more than ratings so we got Universe due to BSG.

It was but then that type of Scifi had run its course and they lost the general public's interest. Also the writers started running out of ideas so there was a lot more weaker episodic episodes coming through towards the end with SG1.

A more focuses 10 episode series will be good but which way will they go with this series next? And who is coming back to play their old rolls? Will episodic episodes be included or will an overarching storyline will be produced.

Mind you I loved the cross over between SG1 & Farscape in episode 200.

The fans / ratings didn’t though. Atlantis was still one of the biggest shows on the channel but wasn’t awards worthy, so they axed it for Universe.
The interview with Joe Flanagan on the Shuttlepod show explains it.

It will be up to the writers I suppose. All the main stars still do tours and cons.
Want it n the same world and the same style, but with today’s tech.
Could Carter or Mitchell be running the SGC?
Atlantis still stuck trying to get back to Pegasus?
Universe still missing?
Mind you I loved the cross over between SG1 & Farscape in episode 200.
Insane episode and one of the beside “celebration” episodes ever. More than just Farscape, pretty much every in joke in sci-fi tv.

Starting my yearly rewatch of the shows early.

Very excited. Loved the early SG1 though felt it fell off a cliff somewhat in the last 2-3 seasons. Atlantis was great and I seem in a minority of people who really enjoyed Universe too.

Yeah I enjoyed Universe too. Never understand the hate it got from some people.

Very much looking forward to a new series.
