Hows he been going in Snadringham this year.

Weve been struggling to find a target at half forward and Miller has shown thats hes not the answer.

Is Newton more the half forward or deep forward player, and whats the chances of him being ready to play this year?

Newton just has to get a game next week, Miller has been given too many chances now. Who knows, a couple of weeks at Sandy could help Brad out.

Juice just needs a chance to prove hes got what it takes, what is there to lose, we are 0-9.

Not that anyone cares but if there was ever a reason to bring in young Newton, it's that he kicked 52 goals last season for Sandy

It's going to be a massive waste if we don't play him, clearly he's no dud

Struggles to get a look in at Sandy as Sautner plays forward but in the past three games, Newton has outscored Sautner in two of them... spends too much time on a wing. He is a good kick at goal, fast lead and strong pair of hands. Just what we should be looking for.

His 52 was in the sandy 2's, even miller might kick a few playing for them and I think the fear is he is a FF not a CHF, which is good for the future but at the moment robbo and neitz need to be playing in those positions. I think we need Dunn back to CHF but he is also needed in the midifield with Brock just back in, Moloney and Pickett out, and Bate, Sylvia and Yze looking more like forwards when there playing this year.

So his six goals for sandy two games back didn't rate a mention... he is more a fullforward than Neitz.

More a full forward than Neitz?

Give Newton a go please. Drop Miller for him. Just do something!

Neitz is a bash and crash player... more so in this day and age but Neitz isn't in the same mould as a Fevola... straight lines leads and strong body on body but his age is really starting to curb his effectiveness. Newton can leap quite well and is quite strong mark. Fullforward is a young mans position. Neitz would still be great marking on the goal line.

I think at some stage he'll get a game, and i think it should be soon. Just hard to fit him with Neitz and Robbo there, plus Miller. I think Miller's been ok without being brilliant, we've just got to improve our disposal going forward, it's not always Miller fault.

B. Miller. Career Stats.

459 kicks/438 handballs. With 11 more HB than K this season (source - http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/B/Brad_Miller.html)

The sad thing is that when he kicks it he's not bad - it's that every time he gets it he's automatically looking for a handball. It's gotten to the point where the other players actually run away from him when he takes a grab so he'll have to kick it. Correct me if I'm wrong but there are a coaching staff who are supposed to see things like this and realise that something is not working.

He's a rubbish kick, why not handball it to T.Johnstone? A huge part of the modern game is the quickness of it and if he can handball to someone in a good position running on, i don't see a problem with it. Granted it doesnt look good when he always does it.

Yes it's no help when everybody in the ground knows it's going to happen, and is so usually so rushed that it's either delivered to the running player while they're standing 10cm away. Just watch everyone run away from him when he takes a mark.

His kicking is terrible. He waits for the opposition to flood back and then kicks it as high as he does long which gives our forwards little chance of a mark.

Thats pretty much it but it's more his decision making that causes that rather than his kicking. If he would get on with it quicker, then his kicking in play isn't too bad.

Wayne Swass on MMM on the weekend, 'I think the Melbourne players may have lost faith in Brad Miller, he is leading well and is the right action but they're not kicking it to him.'
Good to see the players have come round, now we only need the coach.

Still back on the topic of Newton, to get a game I think he needs robbo and bate to cover CHF (with Miller out obviously) so he can get a game along side neitz deep in the forward line.
