Well done to Mernda. Definitely expected Whittlesea to win but Mernda showed they had the goods on the big day. Probably a good chance to start bagging people while Rodney's off celebrating: Tim Moulas is the biggest jerk in the NFL!

Donga got dated for a fair amount of the game Stude, Shaun did a great job and deservedly got the "gong" for BOG after missing out last year. Well done to the Demons.

Johno played a really impressive game, continuosly broke lines, ran and bounced...Gun!

There wasnt a player that didnt contribute, Johno, drummo, Leper and even big Jason the ruckman . The back line in this team was outstanding.

Give the old bloke some credit, allways at training and he did put it all on the line in the granny.

Only teasing the old fella, know scoobs quite well , played a lot of footy against him and some with Him? Good on him for playing in a Flag>
Give the old bloke some credit, allways at training and he did put it all on the line in the granny.

Will Mernda give it another crack? Or will someone else step up to take the prestigious Divvy 2 reserves crown? Whats everyones tips and goings on?
Personally Mernda have picked up at least 10 senior/reserves players and about 6 that came up from the u19s. We are going to have a much improved squad to pick from then last year.

Just like the Senior side, Mernda will be a quick unit this season, most of the old legs have gone, making way for a new era for the Demons.
Mernda Magoos will go back to back this year !
Yesterdays side had 6 senior 1's players from last years side,

Hurstbridge to beat H/west (dont be suprised if its closer then you think)
Macload to beat Sth Morang
Diamo to fence Panton Hill
Pakside in a very close match against The Stars
Reservoir to just beat Watsonia

south morang look like a side to be rekoned with this year, besides the last quarter against macleod where they got outscored 9 goals to 1, they have played some really good football and look like a side that could go pretty far in 09, strong defence and a very good forward line they look like a strong side this year, some good results so far, like i sayd, besides the last qtr in macleod they have played pretty well

Yep have been great at times , need a ruckman that can read the play and win a tapout. showed character to get out of jail with a win after thier no 25 missed a sitter.

yes agree with you moving pictures, i myself was at the game and it was good to see them come back after leading all day then losing the lead with only 2 or so mins on the clock.... alot of pressure on the young bloke to kick the winner but he kicked 2 goals in the last quarter and played well, was a good team effort after fitzroy hit the lead morang could of dropped their heads and given up but to their credit they stuck at it and lucky for the good mark and goal from number 22 to give them the win
