Allan for Pick 60? Thanks, we needed the backup ruckman to play off the bench and help Hille. Hopefully his experience will be useful to Hille, Chook, Carts and SO'K - if all else fails, he can be a mentor to them. Weren't planning on using pick 60. Our list is bulging as it is. We'll have to delist someone for each player who we pick up in the draft.

Murphy for McGrath? Murphy has his good days. If he turns out to be a dud, he can enjoy his time at Bendigo. If not, fantastic, since McGrath was going to ge delisted anyway. I'm sure you guys would've delisted Murphy if this hadn't come up.

As for you guys, I'm sure you'll use pick 60, and McGrath should make the starting 22, he's ok, not as fantastic as what some of his fans make him out to be, but by no meas a hack, just didn't fit into the Bombers team structure.

Nice doing business with you guys, and may our fierce traditional rivalry continue on well into the future

Yeah win-win for both clubs. One man's rubbish is another man's treasure.

Allan and Murphy were lazy and unmotivated for us and troublemakers to boot by some accounts. They were once upper echelon players so if they bounce back, the Bombers have scored big time. Carlton will take their chances on a younger McGrath and a hopeful pick late in the draft and best of all, can have all players moving in the same direction.

For what it's worth, I am disappointed with the Alan trade and I personnally think Essendon will be infront with that one. Would have liked a lower pick for Allan or a Bolton thrown in, but them's the breaks.

Murphy for McGrath could turn out all right in the long term. Murphy will be a very good player for you, no doubt. Just how much we can get out of McGrath is the question.

We have won on some others........so lose some, win some.

Carlton were hurt by Allan's apparent disinterest this season when it came to the trade table. I expect him to be servicable for the Bombers.
Murphy is a 50/50 prospect I think. He'll either take the challenge on board and be good, or he'll lapse into his lazy habits and play VFL all season.
With both on base salary plus performance based bonuses, expect them to at least show more committment than they did for Carlton this season.

McGrath I must admit to knowing very little about, but he's bound to be a much better prospect than the 1/2 dozen or so players who will be delisted shortly.

Mercuri. Plus there's always going to be somebody injured/suspended/down on form. Murphy will get his chances as long as his attitude is right. I want to ask you guys, did Murphy's poor attitude coincide with the club lingering around the bottom of the ladder for the past couple of years? Do you think that is why he dropped off - lack of motivation? Do you think finals prospects will put a bit more spring in his step, or is he just a lost cause?

Good luck to Corey McGrath. Hope he goes well.

You are probably right. Murphy is a frontrunner extraordinaire. If the Bombers start to struggle, Murphy will go missing immediately. Prefers to cash in on the good work from those around him. We need more givers than takers right now.
