Yeah we should have won against the Saints. We were a much better team then they were in 2007. We must have thrown the game.
You probably maintain that you are a better team than us.......yet we still beat you.

Wallet pre game on radio:
"Well if we were close to them going into the last quarter I guess you'd think about it (tanking), but that's that problem. I shouldn't be put in this situation"

What happens next:

Tiges leading.........Bowden with 10 possies in as many minutes is taken to the bench in a "rotation"........Saints regain control and win a game that they never looked like winning........keeping the Tiges 2007 PP and 2008 PP hopes alive.

Would have been clever had he not articulated exactly how to tank just prior to doing it.

As for form, we haven't won more than 4 games i nthe last 2 seasons.......yet of course we MUST have been capable of winning more this year..........right?

If that was an admission of tanking from Wallace then how come the AFL stripped Richmond of our draft picks or punished us in some way?

Getting the 2007 PP pick must not have been that big a deal for the tigers considering we just traded away. You have lost credibility as soon as you suggested that we threw the game for the 2008 piority pick.

Carltank supporters just like to think that we tanked last season because they don't want to think they are the only morally currupt club.

I guess we'll see about that one in about 10 months.

Can you point out when and how we tanked?

Regarding Carlton and Tanking

They haven't been the only club in recent times to do it but noone have been so blatant.

Watching the Carltons last game of the season vs Melbourne only confirmed what most suspected, and these suspicions weren't just in the last month or so.

Their were numerous threads on the subject well before that on Bigfooty

So what happened in the last game that PROVES we tanked?

Vague referrences to idle chatter won't cut it.

This is one of those Chinese whispers that gained momentum with MMM talking it up during the Collingwood game when Fev came off for about 50 seconds.
None of them had the guts to accuse us of tanking, but yet they fuelled the chatter, even asking Rocca post match with the first question (w***ers).

There never has been a compelling case.

Who was dropped that should have played?
Who was played ridiculously out of position that shouldn't have been?
Who was dragged because they were playing to well?

Provide some evidence beyond "Everyone said so at the time".

You can start by explaining why Fev, whom after the Lions game was initially diagnosed with a 4-5 week quad injury, subsequently played, and played well for almost the remiander of the year.

Surely that would have been the perfect way to tank. His scan said 4-5 weeks, take it and lose. Yet he plays and nearlt won us the game the week later vs the Saints.
