He is worth getting, is a doubt for round 1 though. There are plenty of reserve options to cover him for the few rounds he may miss.

sounds like it could be a while till Lappin starts playing. in the article below Matthews says he's unsure when Lappin is even gonna resume full training.

Why waste a trade when you can have him on the bench?

That means you lose most of your early rounds due to a few k spare.. Means midfield goes down a huge notch.... plus if he hasnt even joined in full training and they still dont know when you would think is at least 6 - 7 weeks away.... then it will take him time to get into it again??

Lappin is cheap, but there are better bench options I think, especially for the first couple rounds. When he comes in, he may release some cash in a double trade, for someone, who has dropped off a bit, and therefore you can trade someone good for someone very good with the cash you might get.

I think its safer having a full strength bench, rather than on the assumption that Lappin will play soon. He may not play until Rnd 6 for all we know.

U can never believe anything Brissy release regarding injuries....notoriously shady about them..."should resume full training this week" can mean 6 weeks away..."likely first round" can mean he's scheduled to return round 5...especially when it comes to their better players.

Dont forget he's not young anymore...nothing to say he wont be injury prone all yr...i'd rather wait and see how he's going if he isnt named in the starting 22...if he's named i'll make a late switch

True that! Brisbane ruined my season last year with the Jonathan Brown fiasco... They kept saying that he would play in 2 weeks, for about a month they said the same thing, so i held back trading him, losing hundreds of points in the process.

Remembering that games vs opponents in your league don't start until round 4.

If you have someone to cover him I'd be holding onto Lappin, unless something bad happens to him!
