Having watched the elimination final where buddy killed us with the last kick of the game, it's so hard to take to watch it again. The footy gods hate us :(

Umpires let so many holdings go throughout the match then pay one in the last 15 seconds of the game. Ohwell.

I prefer to think of it as , "robbed". Sure, that free kick may have been technically there, but to pull out a free kick that isn't given half the time, in front of goals, with seconds to go, to the first or second most accurate goalkicker in the league, is exactly what i'd expect. I'm sure Eddie in the stands rang Andy D at half time and said, "sort this out!"

I'm sure the players are hurting. And with that under their belts, next year i expect a whole lot more.

And for a minute there, i was thinking, i'd gladly give Kurt Tippett part of my yearly salary to stay.

Whats with south australian teams chocking? i had money on you boys! and i hate collingwood. You did better then us though. better luck next year boys.

Nothing to do with the umps

EXACTLY........stop looking for excuses guys, if the situation had been reversed we'd be sceaming for that Holding descion and rightly so, cause Rutten clearly infringed.that's life, good for us for not quitting, strange tactics by Craig...yet again, man behind the play when we Need Goals......

Gratz to collingwood, less break and less talent (not being insulting) but a better team....says a lot.

Absolutely. We lost it fair and square.

We had to carry Burton through that game, with Knights injured and Burton doing nothing out forward structure was ****ed.

Edwards, Mcleods 2nd/3rd quarters were woeful.

we lost it in the second quarter with woeful disposal from some very experienced hands, edwards+mcleod+goodwin all made crucial errors.

Absolutely shattered, such a wasted effort.

Our third quarter.. Our field kicking was horrid.. Didn't help Knighter going off either.. He was on fire in the first quarter.. 30 degree night in Melbourne, 3 men on the bench. Tired efforts.. Next year we'll be better for it.

That free would be given every time. Otten would either have marked or the ball would have gone to ground. Poor play by Ben.
Our inability to slot easy and not so easy goals came back To bite us big time tonight. Should have been 12 up at half time and put away the glasses.
Gutted!

this is a tough pill to swallow however I believe that this loss will drive us forward

some tough decisions need to be made in the off season, can we carry 5 x 30 year olds next year as form can quickly dip in a players final season or two and we need to create opportunity for the likes of sloane, walker and davis

Next year we'll be better for it.

We've said that for 5 ****ing years........

We never learn anything. Big games, we fold, blunder - and eventually fall over like the chokers we are.

"Always next year"

Being a Liverpool supporter who's put up with "There's always next year" since 1990 - I'll tell you something....... "next year" only brings more heartbreak, more disappointment - and the realisation that some things never change.

Like the Crows and choking in finals. CHOKE!

Gutting finish but there were some outstanding signs in the mix. Mackay, Dangerfield, Tippett (!!), Vince etc, we'll be better in 2010. Especially with the additions of Tex and Sloane dog.

Gutted... I think sadly Burton's time is up, although I've said all year that Neil Craig thinks the sun shines out of his ass so you never know. In alternate universe I do wonder if we had of not bought Burton back in and kept Walker in the AFL side what would have happened tonight.

Given Walker's effort against the Pies last time its unlikely anything different would've happened.

Stiff result Crows... as you can probably guess I can't stand the Pies so I was hoping you guys would get up.... funny thing is I know exactly what you guys are going through: happened to me last week.

Bad luck tonight, all the best for next season:).

Pull your ****ing head in. We did an absolutely outstanding job to get where we did this year and will only improve from this point. So much upside in Danger, Mackay, Tippett and of course Taylor Walker for next season. Believe it or not, you can't win the premiership every year and a heck of a lot of sides go decades upon decades without winning a flag - because so much has to go right. We lost Knights, one of our most potent forwards this season, to a hammy early in the game and lost some drive up forward. That was out of our control and it hurt us.

2007 was a bit different because there was still so much development to come; if you sit back and settle the emotions you'll see a lot of evidence that we will be a better side next year. Honestly bus that post reeks of fair weather supporting.

What an idiotic comment......How many players play the same against each team the next time they meet.
Walker is a promising player and to say that he would play the same as the last time he played against that team is just tripe.....
Walker certainly could not have been worse than Burton, who, although ntrying his best has not given much in the last few weeks. One mark does not make a good return . Sorry Brett but it is time to go....
