Makes you wonder whether we are alone and if there are other Earth like planets that could ever make contact with us.

Watched Bohemian Rhapsody finally and thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the music, had a few tears. Thought they touched on the "dark" side of Mercury's gay life (and gay life in the 80s) but didn't dwell on it. Also touched on the diagnosis but again didn't dwell on it. Timeline was a little off, but I get the lads (who had creative control) were wanting to protecting Freddy. Not sure I'd give it movie of the year though. Came home and watched the LIVE AID concert and they absolutely nailed that. Made me wonder why I never got to see them live and it turns out when they came to Oz I was living in the US.

Agree with all of this.

A Night at the Opera was my first album purchase - a classic.

Red Violin is a very good movie .....but your favorite?

Three Colors I've been tempted to watch, but generally I watch foreign films post 2000, because generally production quality is better after that time approx

But I'll give it a watch ;)

You can never have definitive favourites but the Red violin came to mind but I do love it. Other mentions are the Sand pebbles, True grit (Cohen brothers), Big Lebowsky, Fargo, Twin town, Reality bites, Crazy stupid love, PS I love you and Red Dog casino....

There's no way we're alone. The universe is just too damned vast. I mean what are the odds that Earth is the only livable planet when there are billions of galaxies?

It's possible we're just too far away from anything for aliens to make contact with us though.

Anyone seen The Front Runner?
I hate watching political semi-biographical dramas ......I like to be entertained & i find these non-entertaining

This is the film that completely killed my interest .....bloody self indulgent bore ! .....most of the film is two people talking across a table

Ive been watching movies (and series) on Netflix this week with “old” actors in it. Don’t know why. “It’s Complicated” with Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin. “Our Souls at Night” with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. “Grace and Frankie” with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin (priceless). “The Last Laugh” with Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfus. “Lady in the Van” with Maggie Smith (she is outstanding). “Intern” with Robert DeNiro, Anne Hathaway and Renee Russo. “The Kaminski Method” with Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin. “Hello, My name is Doris” with Sally Field. None of them award winning, but all of them entertaining enough, and all with quality cast.

Jenny, I think you've brought a new meaning to the term "bing watching" :D

I have been SHOCKING! Watched all 6 series of Orange is the New Black and I still wasn’t even sure I liked it! :p I’ve been on holidays for over 2 months - first month I spent in Europe, second month chilling and going down the Netflix vortex. Back to normal this week so won’t be as many.

The West Wing?

No ...Lion for Lambs
Yeah I was asking whether you liked the West Wing as it's a political drama as you've described

I haven't but it's on my list. Haven't seen The Front Runner either. Just seeing ads for it everywhere

No haven't watched it, political drama's are subjects I rarely watch ....unless they're a comedy

This is my level of interest

There are reasonable theories that suggest we are alone and always will be.
