I've been defending him non-stop since he debuted. Always said he'd become a good player in time. Early days, but this year is looking like he may have found confidence and consistency.
So did we know O’Brien was a poor kick? Hopefully it’s nerves, but he’s had some shockers
Lack of size through the chest, shoulders and arms too. Not good enough from a professional athlete.

Geez it would be nice to show up for all 4 quarters one week.
I don't think we have a bunch of bad kicks in our team, we just seem to be so panicky and make bad decisions as soon as we don't have an uncontested outlet. Bailey Smith's shanks are probably due to him running so hard to cover the ground that he's cooked whenever he kicks it.

The one thing noticeable is how often our defenders get physically held out we don’t seem to prioritise our players building size and strength as much as other clubs

His pressure has improved immensely from last year. Actually laying tackles now. But by god is his kicking awful. Needs to understand his limitations - Dangerfield has a lot of similar attributes, is an awful kick, yet has been one of the best players of the last decade

Good thing he's a footy player and not a body builder. Dustin Fletcher was a walking skeleton and was one of the best full backs of all time.
Naughton keeping his head over the ball rather than his laid back style when kicking for goal looks good. More of that please.

He's awful.
Occasionally takes a decent, noticeable mark when he has no body contact, but half the time the kick that follows completely misses the target. Also gets outdone in wrestles quite often.
All in all a pretty useless defender that isn't reliable. Not sure he'd be much better chop as a forward either.
