Anyone out there ever ghosted an image bigger than 700 meg
What i mean is i want to make an image of a drive with 2.9 gig on it and was wondering if you can span the image over 4-5 cd's ???

Although I've never done it, you can break up the image into chunks with a '-SPLIT=x' parameter where 'x' equals the size of the chunk in megabytes, so for example -SPLIT=600 would create 600 MB chunks which you could burn onto CD

There is a very handy utility called Winsplit that is worthwhile getting. It's freeware afaik and enables you to do what you want.

Why not make a ghost image and then when i need to i can just ghost it rather then running around looking for 50 different cd's i can get out 4 cd's and do the whole lot?

True. But as I'm fortunate enough to have 80 odd gig to play with, I copy all the cds onto the hd.

CD back ups are all pr0n. :)

Can't wait till I get a DVD burner. 9gb of stuff. Woo hoo!

50gb Dual Layer. :D
Boring :o

The latest japanese technology can fit a terabyte onto a CD, mind you don't expect to see it in the shops for a couple of years yet.

Is that a sarcastic 'boring' call?
The technology I was speaking of will be round in a year or so. Where as I can't see that generation your speaking of being released anytime soon. ;)

M29 I've got over 200 gig of hdd space aswell but because of the places i go and things i do Virus's occur
Rather than having to do a fresh install of drivers and stuff i'd prefer to have a ghosted image of my standard setup

You probably come across a few virus's searching for pr0n too?
